Signing of Perjanjian Kinerja 2024 at FMIPA University of Jember

“The target for achieving the IKU for each study program is contained in the performance agreement at FMIPA, as well as the achievement of implementing the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi,” said Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., at the signing of the 2024 performance (29/2). Performance agreements are made to realize government performance that is effective, transparent, accountable, and results-oriented. The 2024 performance agreement signing ceremony was carried out by the Dean with the Head of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Study Programs as well as the Head of the Laboratory at the FMIPA University of Jember.

Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, accompanied by Vice Deans I, II, and III, signed a Perjanjian Kinerja in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the FMIPA UNEJ dean building. The signing of the integrity pact regarding the Zona Integritas-Wilayah Bebas Korupsi (ZI-WBK) was also conveyed during the signing of the Perjanjian Kinerja with the Rector of the University of Jember in 2024 some time ago. “By signing an integrity pact for all work unit leaders, University of Jember has launched the development of ZI-WBK to uphold good governance, combined with the signing of a Perjanjian Kinerja to produce maximum service quality,” he said.

The cover version of the song “Berdua Lebih Baik” song by Acha Septriasa, opened a series of Final Assignment Socialization events for the Mathematics Department, FMIPA UNEJ (23.26/2). This socialization is the fifth event held by the Komisi Bimbingan (kombi) Matematika Department of  Mathematics FMIPA since 2021.

As is known, Tugas Akhir (TA) is an activity that students must carry out at the end of their studies with a series of activities: preparation of proposals, research and writing of final assignments, seminars, and publication of scientific papers. Implementation of TA administratively through SIAKAD/SISTER begins with the registration process until proof of scientific work is published. “Even though the TA implementation process has been integrated into SISTER, there are still many students who do not understand the flow and are new to TA programming,” said Dr. Agustina Pradjaningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Mathematics Committee Secretary. Sindhi Wahidatul Ikrimah Biology Alumni Gives Motivation to Graduates at FMIPA UNEJ Alumni Sharing

Sindhi Wahidatul Ikrimah, S.Si., alumni of the 2017 FMIPA Biology Department, was present to provide motivation to FMIPA UNEJ graduates at the alumni sharing event (23/2). Sindhi shared her experience working at Tanobel Food as a quality control officer and also explained how she achieved this position. “The position I am currently in is different from when I was studying, but with will and perseverance, I can do it well, especially at FMIPA. I have the basics,” she said.

Sindhi said several companies, like the one where he works, are interested in fresh graduates. “Why fresh graduates? Because companies need people who are enthusiastic about working with high mobility, and that’s what fresh graduates do,” she said. Sindhi also proved to herself that, as a new graduate, she could compete and get a job. So there is no need to be discouraged if you are said to have just graduated from college, because many companies are interested, of course, with the criteria that must be met.

LAMSAMA Accreditation Field Assessment of Master of Physics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University

The Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) team held a field assessment of the accreditation of the FMIPA UNEJ Physics Master’s Study Program. Vice Chancellor I University of Jember Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D., together with Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achamd Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., accompany the assessor team at the opening of the field assessment (22/02). The assessor team consists of Prof. Dr. Mitrayana, S.Si., MSi., from Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta and Prof. Drs. Triyanta, M.S., Ph.D., from Institut Teknologi Bandung.

Vice Chancellor UNEJ Prof. Slamin delivered a presentation on the University of Jember Profile. In his presentation, the vision and mission, faculty, postgraduate studies, study programs, teaching staff, educational staff, and active students at UNEJ were presented, as well as UNEJ’s achievements and the direction of UNEJ’s development from 2004 to 2028. “In recent years, the accreditation of study programs with superior achievements at UNEJ has increased, in line with several achievements at national and international levels,” he explained. Vice Chancellor UNEJ, I conveyed greetings from the Chancellor of the University of Jember, who was unable to attend due to the MSIB student release agenda. Continue reading

ORMAWA FMIPA University of Jember Management in 2024 Inaugurated

Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially inaugurated the management of ORMAWA FMIPA Jember University for the 2024 term (31/1) in the FMIPA Physics Department Auditorium. The dean also advised that students’ main task is to study and be able to join organizations while maintaining their achievements. “Being an ORMAWA administrator is a good thing; it is also supported by the main role of being a student, namely studying and, of course, achieving,” began Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ at an event attended by Deputy Deans, Heads of Departments, and ORMAWA’s coach.

The dean further said that he should be proud to be an FMIPA student because jobs in the science and technology sector are currently needed. “As stated by Prof. Akmaloka from ITB, 80% of jobs require science and technology students, while only 30% of science and technology students are in Indonesia, so we must be proud and prepared to compete to achieve that,” he said. He also touched on the important role of students in study program accreditation. Students are also the determinants of the success of a study program in achieving top accreditation, and this will be useful again for students when applying for jobs. Continue reading

Guest Lecture Prof. Akhmaloka, Ph.D. : Tata Kelola Menuju Universitas Berkualitas Dunia

FMIPA University of Jember held a guest lecture by presenting Prof. Akhmaloka, Ph.D., from the Bandung Institute of Technology (30/1). With the theme of Tata Kelola Menuju Universitas Berkualitas Dunia (World Class University), the guest lecture presented the FMIPA community in the Physics Auditorium. The Rector of ITB for 2010-2015 began his presentation by telling about his journey to a world-class university. “You need a fundamental understanding of world-class universities, not just rankings; leadership support is also the main key, and strategies to achieve them,” said Prof. Akhmaloka, Head of the WCU-DIKTI Adhoc Team.

Strategies towards becoming a world-class university include increasing academic reputation, graduates, research, internationalization, and funding. “We will thoroughly examine the journey to becoming a world-class university one by one,” he continued. Simply put, a world-class university is a university with quality that is recognized by the world. Furthermore, Prof. Akhmaloka said that these qualities must be recognized by the world community. “So university rankings are needed to measure this quality in a systematic, measurable, and recognized manner,” he said.
