FMIPA University of Jember Collaborates with FMIPA University of Mataram

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember (FMIPA UNEJ) collaborates with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Mataram (FMIPA UNRAM). This collaboration was marked by the signing of Perjanjian Kerja Sama (PKS) between the Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Dean of FMIPA UNRAM, Dr. Rahadi Wirawan, S.Si., M.Si., online (7/3). The signing of the PKS manuscript was also attended by the Deputy Deans, Heads of Study Programs, and collaboration teams from both faculties. According to the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, the implementation of cooperation with FMIPA UNRAM has begun even before the signing of the manuscript.

“Implementation of arrangements, or IA, in the field of publication is ready to be carried out even before signing the PKS manuscript; this will help with reporting or output from the collaboration that we will carry out,” began the Dean of FMIPA at UNEJ. It was also conveyed that at FMIPA UNEJ, there are several SINTA-accredited journals that are ready to collaborate to realize the scope of cooperation between the two faculties. PKM-RE Team, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember Participates in the 36th PIMNAS 2023 at Padjadjaran University

The Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Riset Eksakta Team (PKM-RE) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, took part in the 36th Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional (PIMNAS) at Padjadjaran University from November 26 to December 1, 2023. The PKM-RE team consisted of Moh. Nazib Abdulloh Yaqin as team leader, with members Qurrota A’yun, Willda Dian Alfiela, Inayatul Ilmiyah, and Helmy Adam Zakaria. Carrying the theme of Pemanfaatan Limbah Ampas Kopi sebagai Material Pendukung TiO2 untuk Aplikasi Reduksi Logam Berat Cr(VI), the PKM-RE FMIPA team competes with 525 PKM groups from 107 universities throughout Indonesia. The PKM teams that passed PIMNAS were the result of selection from 5102 PKM teams that passed funding in 2023.

Dr. Sutisna, S.Pd., M.Si. lecturer at Department of Physics, FMIPA UNEJ, as the supervisor, said that the PKM-RE FMIPA team had prepared themselves, including strengthening the presentation material. “PIMNAS will be divided into 25 classes with several different fields, and this year poster judging will be carried out first, followed by presentation judging,” he said. It’s just that in 2023, the PKM-RE FMIPA team has not succeeded in winning a medal. Sutisna also added that for the implementation of the PKM-RE research, funds from Belmawa amounted to 7.6 million, with matching funds from the University of Jember amounting to 2 million. Strengthening Collaboration, FPA UiTM Malaysia Delegation Visits FMIPA UNEJ and Meets Vice Rector IV UNEJ

Dean of the Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology (FPA), Universiti Technology MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, Prof. Ts. Dr. Azhan Hashim @ Ismail, and Head of the Center of Studies (Postgraduate), Dr. Zaiton Sapak, visited FMIPA UNEJ to strengthen cooperation (16/11). Also scheduled to meet with the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems at UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Bambang Kuswandi, M.Sc., Ph.D. Several collaborative activities have been carried out by the two institutions, including student exchanges and sharing lecture sessions. “The presence of Prof. Azhan and Dr. Zaiton will enhance the collaboration that we have agreed upon and some of which is currently ongoing,” said Deputy Dean I of FMIPA, Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Prof. Azhan also agrees and hopes that the collaboration will become more widespread, such as the research collaboration between FPA UiTM and FMIPA UNEJ lecturers. “Collaboration must continue; visiting lecturers need to be carried out following our ongoing student exchanges,” he said. Several international seminar agendas can also be a forum for strengthening cooperation between the two institutions. Head of PRTDRAN BRIN Invites FMIPA UNEJ Lecturers to Collaborate on Nuclear Energy Research

Head of Pusat Riset Teknologi Deteksi Radiasi dan Analisis Nuklir (PRTDRAN) BRIN, Dr. Abu Khalid Rivai, M.Eng. give a guest lecture at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (19/10). Abu Khalid invited lecturers to collaborate on research through BRIN as a bridge. “In BRIN there is ORTN, namely Organisasi Riset Tenaga Nuklir to optimize research in all regions in Indonesia,” he said.

Abu Khalid explained, ORTN itself is divided into 12 organizations in Indonesia, one example being Radiation Process Technology. Everything was revealed in the Guest Lecture of Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ with the theme Research Prospects and research work at PRTDRAN and National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).. FMIPA UNEJ in collaboration with FPA Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember held talks to establish cooperation with The Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology (FPA), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia (7/4). Initial communication with online meetings. FMIPA is led directly by Dean of UNEJ Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. accompanied by Deputy Dean I for Academic Affairs Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Deputy Dean II for General Affairs and Finance Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Meanwhile, FPA UiTM presents the Dean, Prof. Dr. Azhan Hashim, Dr Fazleen Abdul Fatah as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Program Coordinator Dr Zaiton Sapak. On this occasion, discussions began with the student exchange program which included class meetings, internships, research, and lecturer assistance. Department of Mathematics: The Joint Research Workshop from DM-ITS Surabaya

The research system and road map of research at the Mathematics Department of ITS Surabaya became the main topic in the Joint Research Workshop organized by the Mathematics Department of FMIPA University of Jember in Multimedia Room on Monday (December 11, 2017). Department of Mathematics ITS (DM-ITS) which represented by Prof. Dr. Moh Isa Irawan, Dr. Dieky Adzkiya and Dr. Choirul Imron presented each Focus Group Discussion according to the field. “Increasing the role of functional analysis in applied mathematics and data assimilation methods on large-scale systems Maxplus & Maxmin algebra is among the research objectives in the DM-ITS Analysis and Algebra Laboratory” Dieky Adzkiya in the subject matter of Research Analysis and Algebra. There are some interesting research in this field such as solar panel position control by using fuzzy method. “And there is also the application of fuzzy for weather prediction in the determination of cropping pattern” he continued.
