FMIPA Lecturers and Staff, Along with 1,195 UNEJ Civil Servants, Officially Take the Oath of PNS and PPPK Appointments

Twenty-nine lecturers and administrative staff from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Jember attended the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony at the University of Jember Auditorium on October 30th. They, along with 1,195 ASN from Jember, solemnly participated in the inauguration ceremony. The ceremony comprised 287 Civil Servant Lecturers, 129 PPPK Lecturers, 49 Education Personnel, 25 PPPK Lecturers for the 2025 recruitment period, 704 Education Personnel for the 2025 recruitment period, and one Archivist. The Rector of the University of Jember, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng., officially administered the oath to the ASN, accompanied by the Chair of the UNEJ Senate, Vice Rectors, Deans, and other University leaders.

In his address, the UNEJ Rector stated that the oath/pledge is not merely a change in employee status, but also an increase in professional moral responsibility in serving UNEJ. “Especially for PPPK, it’s important to note that in the written contract for the next five years, performance will be assessed, which will determine their future. It’s fitting that PPPK and ASN will also receive remuneration,” he said. The UNEJ Rector advised them to continue improving their performance after their employment contracts become PPPK. Performance is key, influencing the amount of remuneration and determining the contract extension of PPPK.

“Let’s be grateful for what we have achieved by giving our best to this institution, and also by managing our income well, not being wasteful, and prioritizing,” he urged. This is crucial because it impacts performance; poor family financial management will degrade ASN performance. It’s been said that many families’ economic hardships are not caused by income but by lifestyles that don’t align with their capabilities. “The work ethic must be better, as UNEJ continues to transform, requiring adaptation and integrity. Prove that the ASN brings new enthusiasm and real contributions to UNEJ,” he concluded.

Met separately, Dr. Esti Utarti, S.P., M.Si., Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNEJ, expressed her gratitude for the successful appointment of contract workers at FMIPA to PPPK and their oath of office today by the UNEJ Rector. “Thank God, through several processes, starting with the submission of documents and completing the CBT and completing the administrative requirements for the appointment, the FMIPA PPPK can be inaugurated and sworn in today,” she said. The Vice Dean II of FMIPA advised the civil servants sworn in today to continue their good work, improve their discipline, and give their best to the institution, especially FMIPA UNEJ.
