FMIPA UNEJ hosted a Cek Kesehatan Gratis (CKG), organized as part of the university’s Health Promoting University (HPU) agenda. The event took place on the ground floor of Building I, in the Department of Mathematics at FMIPA UNEJ, from October 20–21. Carried out in collaboration with Dinas Kesehatan, Pengendalian Penduduk dan Keluarga Berencana Kabupaten Jember through UPTD Puskesmas Sukowono Jember this activity represents UNEJ’s commitment to providing health screenings for its academic community, with a particular focus on FMIPA, as part of an effort to foster a culture of healthy living within the campus environment.
CKG is part of the University of Jember’s promotional and preventive strategy to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of health conditions. The health screening services provided include anthropometric measurements, blood pressure checks, random blood glucose testing, dental and ear examinations, and cholesterol screening. CKG is available to faculty members, administrative staff, and students of the FMIPA UNEJ free of charge; participants are simply required to present an identification card (KTP) and complete a registration form.
Throughout the two-day event, the academic community of the FMIPA UNEJ showed great enthusiasm in visiting the CKG. Lecturers and students took time out after their classes to undergo health screenings, while administrative and support staff also dropped by amidst their daily routines. FMIPA provided the necessary facilities and infrastructure to ensure the smooth running of the event; this included seating for those waiting, a well-organized layout for the various stages of the health check-up process, and internet connectivity for administrative tasks. Set against a backdrop of lush green gardens and a fish pond at Building I of the Mathematics Department, the environment offered a comfortable experience for visitors, allowing the medical team to conduct the screenings efficiently.
The collaboration between the Health Promoting University (HPU) team at the University of Jember and the Puskesmas Sukowono in Jember exemplifies a synergy between a higher education institution and a healthcare facility, aimed at providing accessible health services to the academic community. Beyond offering health screenings, these activities also serve as an educational platform to raise awareness about disease risk factors, the importance of early detection, and the adoption of healthy lifestyles within the campus environment.
Through the provision of free health check-ups, the FMIPA University of Jember continues to support the realization of a healthy, productive, and sustainable campus. In line with the spirit of a Health Promoting University (HPU), these free health check-ups are intended to foster a culture of healthy living among the academic community, while simultaneously strengthening the University of Jember’s commitment to creating a learning environment that supports the health and well-being of all its members.
