FMIPA UNEJ Opens Opportunities for Academic Collaboration with the FMIPA Sam Ratulangi University during KNM XXIII IndoMS 2026

FMIPA UNEJ is strengthening its academic partnerships with other higher education institutions in Indonesia. This strategic initiative was advanced through meetings and discussions between the leadership of FMIPA UNEJ and their counterparts at the FMIPA UNSRAT. The opportunity for academic collaboration arose on the sidelines of the 23rd National Mathematics Conference (KNM XXIII) organized by IndoMS (October 16–17). “This is a significant momentum to open up opportunities for collaboration in education, research, community service, and human resource development between the two institutions, specifically within their respective Faculties of Mathematics and Natural Sciences,” stated Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UNEJ.

Prof. Dafik noted that this formal forum provided an excellent opportunity to establish more intensive communication with the leadership of the FMIPA Sam Ratulangi University. “Various opportunities for cooperation were discussed, including the organization of joint seminars and guest lectures, cross-disciplinary research collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, and the development of academic programs designed to enhance the quality of the tridarma,” he continued. It is hoped that this synergy will strengthen the institutional capacity of both faculties while expanding their contributions to the advancement of science, particularly in the fields of mathematics and the natural sciences.

The 23rd National Mathematics Conference (KNM XXIII), organized by the Indonesian Mathematical Society (IndoMS) in 2026, serves as a national scientific forum for mathematicians, academics, researchers, students, and practitioners to share research findings, expand collaborative networks, and discuss the latest developments in the field of mathematics and its applications. Beyond being a platform for the dissemination of scholarly work, KNM XXIII 2026 acts as a strategic space for higher education institutions to forge sustainable partnerships that support the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.

The active participation of the FMIPA UNEJ in the 23rd National Mathematics Conference (KNM XXIII) organized by IndoMS in 2026 underscores the faculty’s commitment to strengthening academic networks at the national level, while fostering collaborations that yield tangible impact. “The potential for partnership with the FMIPA Sam Ratulangi University is expected to serve as an initial step toward implementing joint programs aimed at generating innovations, enhancing research quality, and broadening the contributions of both institutions toward the advancement of mathematics and science in Indonesia,” he concluded.
