The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially appointed the new management of Takmir Masjid Baitul Ilmu FMIPA on December 3rd. The ceremony took place in the Physics Auditorium, where the new committee also received guidance from the Dean, who is also an advisor to the mosque. “Today, I am officially appointing the management because the mosque committee is very special. It’s a task given with sincerity, for the sake of Allah,” said the Dean. He emphasized that the mosque is the house of Allah, and the newly appointed committee’s job is to care for and keep the mosque active.
Masjid Baitul Ilmi has been organizing religious activities such as the Prophet’s birthday, sacrificial animal slaughter, Ramadan studies, and the halal bihalal. “Friday prayers are now a regular schedule, and I appreciate the committee for providing lunch donations in the form of Jumat Berkah,” he added. He called for the new management to continue improving the mosque’s activities, with support from the UKM IONS student organization. “Let’s make Masjid Baitul Ilmi even more lively with educational activities, religious talks, social programs, and hadroh practice, while still maintaining the primary function of the mosque,” he concluded. Before the appointment ceremony, Dr. Esti Utarti, S.P., M.Si., the Vice Dean II of FMIPA, read the list of new mosque committee members.
In this new leadership, Dr. Kiswara Agung Santoso, S.Si., M.Si., was entrusted with the role of Chairman of the Takmir (mosque management) of Masjid Baitul Ilmi. In his inaugural speech, Kiswara invited the committee members to remain steadfast in their efforts to make the mosque thrive. “Let’s work together to improve the activities already in place, as this will become our jariyah in the hereafter. Amen,” he said. The new committee includes positions such as the secretary, treasurer, and various departments such as da’wah (preaching), education, social programs, publicity, and equipment.
Masjid Baitul Ilmi is located north of the FMIPA UNEJ building. The mosque, with its minimalist design, can accommodate more than 100 worshippers. It regularly hosts group prayers, Friday prayers, and study sessions with invited religious teachers. Like other mosques, Masjid Baitul Ilmi maintains cleanliness with regular cleaning by FMIPA’s cleaning staff, supported by the UKM IONS students. The ceremony ended with a prayer asking for the health and success of the new committee in advancing and prospering Masjid Baitul Ilmi.
