New Student Inauguration Concludes the PPMB 2026 at the FMIPA UNEJ

Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, officially concluded the 2026 Faculty-level Pembinaan dan Pengembangan Mahasiswa Baru (PPMB) program on September 13. The event culminated in an inauguration night featuring an arts performance by the new students. The 2026 PPMB program covered topics such as PKM, ONMIPA, PPK ORMAWA, PKM mentoring, and a UKM expo. “With the material provided, students are expected to keep learning without giving up in order to achieve success,” the Dean stated. In the current era, students must become autonomous learners taking initiative and responsibility for their studies rather than relying solely on instructors or lecturers.

The Dean of the FMIPA UNEJ stated that new students are expected to learn not only about their specific scientific disciplines but also about a wide range of subjects, aiming to become multitalented individuals. “To truly shine, you must master various areas; that radiance will emanate from the knowledge you possess within yourself,” he remarked. Prof. Dafik also highlighted “ARUNIKA” signifying the first rays of light after sunrise as well as the 2026 PPMB theme: Melangkah Bersama, Menembus Cakrawala. “With the spirit of ARUNIKA, new students must put these values ​​into practice and pursue their studies at FMIPA with enthusiasm, so that they may attain a future filled with the light of new hope,” he concluded. 3,201 Inauguration of Prof. Dr. Kiswara Agung Santoso, S.Si., M.Kom., Professor in the Mathematics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

The Chair of the University of Jember Senate, Drs. Andang Subaharianto, M.Hum., inaugurated four professors at the University of Jember Senate Meeting in the University of Jember Auditorium (February 13th). One of them is Professor Dr. Kiswara Agung Santoso, S.Si., M.Kom., from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNEJ, as Professor of Programming Algorithms in the Mathematics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Prof. Kiswara was inaugurated alongside Prof. Khoirul Anam from the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Evita Soliha Hani from the Faculty of Agriculture, and Prof. Bambang Marhaenanto from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. The senate inauguration meeting was attended by UNEJ leadership, the Rector and Vice Rectors, senate members, and University of Jember stakeholders. In his remarks, UNEJ Rector Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng., stated that UNEJ currently has 101 professors, a significant increase compared to 51 in 2020.

“There has been a remarkable increase, almost 100 percent since 2020. However, this figure is still not ideal compared to UNEJ’s 1,500 lecturers. Hopefully, we can reach 10 percent of that figure, or 150 professors, in the future,” he said. The UNEJ Rector hopes the inaugurated professors will be able to provide innovation amidst global dynamics, technological disruption, digital transformation, and climate change. “Today’s inauguration is even more meaningful because each professor has made real contributions relevant to the challenges of our time,” he continued. The Dean of the FMIPA UNEJ officially inaugurated the ORMAWA Management of FMIPA University of Jember for the 2026 period.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Jember University, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially inaugurated the Student Organization (ORMAWA) Management of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Jember University for the 2026 term (February 3) at the Auditorium of the Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ. In his remarks, the Dean conveyed the message to the ORMAWA management, emulating the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). “To the new management, we must embody the example of tabligh (prophetic teaching), conveying goodness, and being trustworthy in carrying out our duties in every FMIPA student organization agenda,” stated the Dean at the event attended by the Vice Deans, Department Heads, and ORMAWA Advisors. He continued with the principle of siddiq (honesty), which can be applied when reporting, and finally, fathonah (intelligence), which is intelligent, active in student organizations, and with a high GPA.

Prof. Dafik hopes that the FMIPA slogan “Create, Innovate, and Achieve” will continue to be echoed everywhere and embraced, especially by FMIPA students. “Let’s work together to realize this slogan and achieve the FMIPA slogan of 3.5 to the power of 4,” he continued. This slogan will serve as a benchmark for the advancement of FMIPA, especially for students, and the student organization (ORMAWA) administrators can contribute. “ORMAWA administrators must have the spirit of leading by example, encouraging others, and encouraging others, all while synergizing with FMIPA,” he concluded. In closing, the Dean congratulated the new administrators for the 2026 term and expressed his gratitude to the ORMAWA administrators for the 2025 term. Continue reading

Dean of FMIPA Officially Inaugurates ORMAWA FMIPA Jember University in 2025

The Dean of the FMIPA Faculty at UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially swore in the new leadership of the ORMAWA (Student Organizations) at FMIPA UNEJ for the 2025 term on January 20, 2025, in the FMIPA Physics Department Auditorium. In his speech, the Dean encouraged the new leaders to continue the programs from the previous leadership. “To the new leaders, continue the work of the outgoing leaders, keep developing for the progress of the organization, and help achieve recognition for FMIPA,” said the Dean. He emphasized that the goal of the FMIPA recognition program is to promote the faculty’s name, and hopes ORMAWA will be actively involved in it.

Prof. Dafik also agreed with the theme of the inauguration, which is “ORMAWA Synergy to Create a Creative, Innovative, and Accomplished FMIPA UNEJ.” He shared that this slogan was first introduced when he started his leadership, along with a motto for students: “Three point five to the power of four.” This slogan will guide the progress of FMIPA, especially for students, and the ORMAWA leaders are expected to play a key role. “The ORMAWA leaders must lead by example, inspire in the middle, and provide support from behind so that we can all work together with FMIPA,” he concluded. Inauguration and Farewell of the Dharma Wanita Management of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Association, University of Jember

The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially inaugurated the new board of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) FMIPA UNEJ on December 19th. Based on the Dean’s decree, this board will serve from 2024 to 2025. “I officially appoint the DWP FMIPA UNEJ board. I hope you carry out your duties well,” said the Dean. Prof. Dafik, accompanied by the Chairperson of DWP FMIPA, Lis Setyaningsih Dafik, thanked and honored Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah, the previous DWP chairperson. “Thank you for your dedication in leading DWP and supporting Mr. Achmad Sjaifullah during his service as a lecturer and leader at FMIPA UNEJ,” he added.

“After being inaugurated, I hope we can continue and develop the programs that have been running,” said Lis Setyaningsih Dafik. During the meeting, the board discussed several planned programs, including those in the fields of education, economics, and social culture. “We will continue and develop the work plans for each area to achieve our main goals,” she added. On this occasion, the Chairperson of DWP FMIPA also gave souvenirs to Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah and Mrs. Misto, whose husbands retired from FMIPA UNEJ this month. Continue reading

Inauguration of the Takmir of Baitul Ilmi Mosque, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially appointed the new management of Takmir Masjid Baitul Ilmu FMIPA on December 3rd. The ceremony took place in the Physics Auditorium, where the new committee also received guidance from the Dean, who is also an advisor to the mosque. “Today, I am officially appointing the management because the mosque committee is very special. It’s a task given with sincerity, for the sake of Allah,” said the Dean. He emphasized that the mosque is the house of Allah, and the newly appointed committee’s job is to care for and keep the mosque active.

Masjid Baitul Ilmi has been organizing religious activities such as the Prophet’s birthday, sacrificial animal slaughter, Ramadan studies, and the halal bihalal. “Friday prayers are now a regular schedule, and I appreciate the committee for providing lunch donations in the form of Jumat Berkah,” he added. He called for the new management to continue improving the mosque’s activities, with support from the UKM IONS student organization. “Let’s make Masjid Baitul Ilmi even more lively with educational activities, religious talks, social programs, and hadroh practice, while still maintaining the primary function of the mosque,” he concluded.
