Gita Laras FMIPA participated in the 2026 Jember University Pancasila Month Choir Competition.

The Gita Laras FMIPA UNEJ Choir Team (padsu) participated in the Inter-Work Unit Choir Competition throughout the University of Jember at the 5th Floor of the Soejarwo Building (27/6). This year, the FMIPA padsu received lottery number 4 out of 19 participants who took part in the competition. After being opened by Prof. Dr. drg. Sri Hernawati, M.Kes. Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, Gita Laras performed two songs, the mandatory song Kulihat Ibu Pertiwi by Charles C, Ismail Marzuki and the Rote NTT regional song Mana Lolo Banda arranged by Yeremia Andika Putra. Gita Laras FMIPA is a padsu consisting of FMIPA lecturers and staff. The choir competition is a routine agenda of UNEJ to commemorate the Birth of Pancasila in 2026.

Wearing uniforms typical of the Rote region, Gita Laras FMIPA presented two songs in unison, earning a Silver Certificate. This performance was achieved after almost a full month of routine practice in between activities at the faculty. Accompanied by a coach, the FMIPA Padsu team trained in the afternoon to adjust their voices according to the score and movements to support their stage performance. The day before the competition, the Padsu team conducted a stage test or dress rehearsal to test the stage and team positions. The Mathematics Department of FMIPA UNEJ held the 2026 National Seminar on Mathematics, Geometry, Statistics, and Computation (SeNa-MaGeStiK)

The Mathematics Department of FMIPA UNEJ held the 2026 National Seminar on Mathematics, Geometry, Statistics, and Computation (SeNa-MaGeStiK) (13/6). SeNa-MaGeStiK 2026 raised the theme “Peran Strategis Matematika dalam Hilirisasi Riset Berdampak bagi SDGs“. Kusbudiono, S.Si., M.Si., as the Chair of the Committee in his report at the plenary session said that SeNa-MaGeStiK 2026 presented 4 speakers, namely Prof. I Wayan Sudarsana, M.Si. from Tadulako University, Prof. Drs. Kusno, DEA., Ph.D. from Jember University, Ahmad Muklason, S.Kom., M.Sc., Ph.D. from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology and Dr. Alfian Futuhul Hadi, S.Si., M.Si. from Jember University. The National Seminar was held online and attended by 77 participants from various universities across Indonesia.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (UNEJ), Prof. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., highlighted three main points of the 2026 SeNa-MaGeStiK event. “At this second SeNa-MaGeStiK National Seminar held by the Mathematics Department of FMIPA, I highlight three main points: the strategic role of mathematics, impactful research, and sustainable development amidst today’s technological advances,” he said. Prof. Dafik also highlighted the role of mathematics in the development of artificial intelligence, which in this era is capable of producing results. “By creating prompts and simple algorithms, AI can already produce results. Therefore, through SeNa-MaGeStiK, we hope to involve mathematics in realizing impactful research and sustainable development,” he concluded. Continue reading →

FMIPA UNEJ Partners with PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Glenmore to Offer Research, Internships, and Agro-Industry Innovation Opportunities

FMIPA UNEJ and PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Glenmore discussed a collaboration as a concrete step to strengthen synergy between higher education and industry (9/6). This collaboration is expected to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education while making a tangible contribution to the development of the science and technology-based agro-industry sector. FMIPA UNEJ remains committed to expanding its partnership network with various strategic sectors. This collaboration is part of an effort to provide learning that is relevant to the needs of the workplace and industrial developments.

Vice Dean I of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D., representing the Dean, stated that partnerships with industry are a crucial step in building an adaptive, innovative, and impactful educational ecosystem. “This collaboration opens up wider opportunities for lecturers and students to contribute directly to solving various challenges in the industrial sector, resulting in applied research, technological innovation, and human resource development,” she said. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Graduation Ceremony, Term X, Academic Year 2025/2026

FMIPA of Jember University held its 85th Postgraduate (S2) and 119th Undergraduate (B2) Graduation Ceremony for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Jember University for Term X, Academic Year 2025/2026 (June 4). The ceremony took place in the Physics Department Auditorium, FMIPA, Jember University. In his graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of their studies at FMIPA. He encouraged the graduates to prepare themselves to become independent graduates. “FMIPA is dedicated to providing useful knowledge so that alumni can be independent in facing the future,” he began. After graduation, alumni are expected to no longer be dependent on their parents.

Prof. Dafik stated that FMIPA alumni have the advantage of being able to enter all fields of work. “The broad scope of the science and technology field is a valuable asset for alumni, such as now, when they can enter public schools to teach and become nutritionists in national government programs,” he continued. Prof. Dafik advised the graduates to embrace lifelong learning, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning, learning through anything, anywhere, and any medium. The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences led an open meeting of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences senate, accompanied by the Vice Deans II and III of the Faculty. All members of the FMIPA senate, as well as invited guests representing the teaching and administrative staff of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University, were also present. FMIPA Delegation Participates in the University of Jember’s Nusantara Cultural Parade on Pancasila Day

Led directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences delegation participated in the University of Jember’s Nusantara Cultural Parade (6/1). The parade was part of the Pancasila Month Celebrations, which this year adopted the theme “Kampus Berdampak Berlandaskan Nilai Pancasila untuk Kemajuan Bangsa” The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences sent seven pairs of representatives, consisting of lecturers and staff, dressed in traditional Indonesian attire. Following the Pancasila Day flag-raising ceremony, a cultural parade took place along the courtyard of the University of Jember’s Rectorate Building. Representatives from every faculty, institution, and technical unit (UPA) within the University of Jember participated in the parade.

FMIPA UNEJ placed eighth in the parade, with Dean Prof. Dafik displaying a graceful stride toward the stage of honor. The cheers were presented with a unified theme of the archipelago, including the FMIPA slogan: “Create, Innovate, and Achieve.” “We have appointed representatives from the lecturers and staff to participate in the parade, dressed in traditional Indonesian attire and prepared cheers and dance movements to participate in the 2026 Pancasila Birth Day celebrations,” said the Dean of FMIPA. Slaughter of Sacrificial Animals for 1447 H by the Baitul Ilmi Mosque Management Team, FMIPA UNEJ

The Baitul Ilmi Mosque Management Team, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, held a sacrificial animal slaughter for Eid al-Adha 1447 H (May 28). Together with the academic community of the FMIPA, the mosque management slaughtered one cow and four goats. The Dean of the FMIPA, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., separately expressed his gratitude for the year 1447 H. The mosque management and the FMIPA community jointly slaughtered the sacrificial animals at the Faculty. “This year, the FMIPA community, along with the Baitul Ilmi Mosque management, slaughtered the sacrificial animals in the mosque courtyard. I express my gratitude for the trust of the sacrificers and also the committee for preparing the event,” he said. After breakfast, the committee prepared for the slaughtering, sorting, and distribution of the meat.

The reading of the sacrificers by Dr. Bambang Piluharto, a representative of the Baitul Ilmi Mosque committee, was also present. Several sacrificers were also present to witness the slaughtering process. A location was set up in the mosque’s foyer for slaughtering, sorting, and distributing the sacrificial meat. Four goats were slaughtered first by professionals brought in by the mosque committee. Then, the cows, which required several people, were slaughtered. In one fell swoop, the professional slaughterers completed their task in accordance with Islamic law. The committee, having prepared the equipment, immediately got to work, coordinated by Miftahul Ulum, S.KM., from the general sub-section of the FMIPA, UNEJ. Continue reading →
