The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of University of Jember has 4 Undergraduate Study Programs and 3 Masters Study Programs. Undergraduate Study Program in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Master’s Program in Mathematics, Physics and Biology. In the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, FMIPA has 1654 active students spread across all study programs, both undergraduate and master’s degrees. All study programs are accredited B from BAN-PT, while undergraduate physics study programs are accredited A. ASIIN international accreditation is also being prepared, the Dean of FMIPA has invited all study programs to race to prepare. Learning facilities for students in each study program are very adequate, both classrooms and laboratories. This is to support the curriculum of the study program which also implements the government’s program of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Students are given the opportunity to choose the Bentuk Kegiatan Pembelajaran (BKP) to expand the knowledge gained while accelerating their study period. FMIPA implements several BKP MBKM by putting them in the form of cooperation agreements with several state universities. institutions are also private. The achievements of study program students at FMIPA have penetrated national and international levels such as winning the Silver Medal at iWareBatik International Hackathon Event 2021. On the research side, all FMIPA study programs in 2021 have held international seminars. The agenda is a place to exchange research information for lecturers in study programs with national and international researchers. To accommodate it, it also has a SINTA accredited journal and of course the Kelompok Riset (KeRis) is the spearhead of the implementation of research which of course collaborates with students in it.. Department of Chemistry begins offline practice at Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember
“It’s really nice to hold tool directly, then can directly practice also making samples,” said cheerful Vina Walida, student of Department of Chemistry angkatan 2019, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember who took part in Praktikum Struktur Kereaktifan Anorganik class B (11/11). Vina and her friends started a full offline practice after previously participating in an online practice. Practice followed 22 practicants by using two laboratory are Kimia Anorganik-Fisik Laboratory and Kimia Analitik Laboratory each of which has capacities 40 practicants. Practice with lecturer Yudi Aris Sulistiyo, S.Si., M.Si. planned to last two days. For your information, all practitioners follow strict health protocols by keeping their distance and have carried out self-quarantine first for practitioners who come from outside the city of Jember. “We along with other friends have carried out self-quarantine before participating in practice,” explained Vina, who also shared that some of her friends had arrived in Jember at end of last October. The practitioners seemed so eager to wait for live samples again, because some time ago only through videos with guidance from assistant class. Offline activities for this course are only for practice, while lectures are still using the online system. Department of Chemistry FMIPA UNEJ held 3rd International Conference on Chemistry and Material Science (IC2MS) 2021
Department of Chemistry, FMIPA, University of Jember held the 3rd International Conference on Chemistry and Material Science (IC2MS) 2021 by online (12-13/10). IC2MS is a biennial agenda of collaboration between Department of Chemistry, University of Jember, Brawijaya University and Universitas Negeri Malang. In 2021, Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UNEJ hosted with the theme “Innovation on Material Science for Sustainable Industrial Chemistry“. The 3rd IC2MS 2021 topics are Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry. At the Opening Ceremony, Dr. A.A.I. Ratnadewi as Chief Executive 3rd IC2MS said that IC2MS 2021 attended 6 Keynote Speakers. “We present Prof. Manabu Abe from School of Chemistry, Hiroshima University, Japan, Prof. Yong-Chien Ling from Department of Chemistry, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, ROC, Prof. Byung-Dae Park from Department of Wood and Paper Science, Kyungpook National University, Republic of Korea, Hasliza Bahruji, Ph.D. from the Center for Advanced Materials and Energy Sciences, Universiti of Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Darussalam, Prof. David Lennon from School of Chemistry, University of Glasgow, United Kingdom and Prof. . Indonesia has a wealth of natural resources and non-living is very abundant. Unfortunately many of these commodities are exported as raw materials with low economic value. The chemistry has an important role in the processing of local commodities to increase added value. Chemistry National Seminar 2015 is expected to be a medium of communication to promote the role of chemistry in increasing the added value of local commodities.
