FMIPA UNEJ and Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha Republik Indonesia (KPPU-RI) established a partnership on a self-managed study and institutional synergy (April 17). Present were KPPU-RI Commissioner Dr. Eugenia Mardanugraha, S.Si., M.E., accompanied by the Director of Economics, the KPPU’s Public Relations Officer (PPK), the Head of the Surabaya Regional Office’s Research Division, and several staff members. The KPPU team was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si., the Vice Dean III representing the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, accompanied by Dr. Alfian Futuhulhadi, S.Si., M.Si., and members of KeRis Data Science. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement was initiated by the KeRis Data Science Department of Mathematics, FMIPA, in the form of a Study on Refining Sample Design and Respondent Composition for the Business Competition Index.
In her remarks, KPPU-RI Commissioner Dr. Eugenia stated that this collaboration is a cross-disciplinary collaboration that supports the KPPU’s work program. “Law No. 5 of 1999 serves as the KPPU’s basis for preventing monopolistic practices, cartels, and unfair market dominance. Therefore, collaboration is needed to support economic transformation,” she said. She stated that the KPPU continues its fight to eradicate cartels, as evidenced by the recent fines imposed on 97 online lending companies.
