FMIPA UNEJ Partners with PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Glenmore to Offer Research, Internships, and Agro-Industry Innovation Opportunities

FMIPA UNEJ and PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Glenmore discussed a collaboration as a concrete step to strengthen synergy between higher education and industry (9/6). This collaboration is expected to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education while making a tangible contribution to the development of the science and technology-based agro-industry sector. FMIPA UNEJ remains committed to expanding its partnership network with various strategic sectors. This collaboration is part of an effort to provide learning that is relevant to the needs of the workplace and industrial developments.

Vice Dean I of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D., representing the Dean, stated that partnerships with industry are a crucial step in building an adaptive, innovative, and impactful educational ecosystem. “This collaboration opens up wider opportunities for lecturers and students to contribute directly to solving various challenges in the industrial sector, resulting in applied research, technological innovation, and human resource development,” she said. FMIPA UNEJ Establishes Partnership with PT Autore Pearl Culture to Strengthen the Tri Dharma and the Pearl Cultivation Industry

FMIPA UNEJ officially established a partnership with PT Autore Pearl Culture to strengthen the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Three Pillars of Higher Education) on May 19. The agreement is outlined in a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) signed by the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Head of Operations of PT Autore Pearl Culture, Moch. Ichwan Dwi Cahya, S.Kel. This collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen the synergy between higher education and the industry, particularly in the marine pearl cultivation sector. This collaboration aims to improve the quality of the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education and strengthen human resource competencies through various activities relevant to the needs of dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DUDI).

Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that this collaboration demonstrates the university’s commitment to providing FMIPA UNEJ students with an education that adapts to industry needs. “Collaboration with industry, such as PT Autore Pearl Culture, provides a significant opportunity for students and lecturers to be directly involved in developing applied research and innovations that have a real impact on society and the industrial sector,” he said. FMIPA UNEJ and KPPU-RI Establish a Self-Managed Study Partnership and Institutional Synergy

FMIPA UNEJ and Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha Republik Indonesia (KPPU-RI) established a partnership on a self-managed study and institutional synergy (April 17). Present were KPPU-RI Commissioner Dr. Eugenia Mardanugraha, S.Si., M.E., accompanied by the Director of Economics, the KPPU’s Public Relations Officer (PPK), the Head of the Surabaya Regional Office’s Research Division, and several staff members. The KPPU team was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si., the Vice Dean III representing the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, accompanied by Dr. Alfian Futuhulhadi, S.Si., M.Si., and members of KeRis Data Science. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement was initiated by the KeRis Data Science Department of Mathematics, FMIPA, in the form of a Study on Refining Sample Design and Respondent Composition for the Business Competition Index.

In her remarks, KPPU-RI Commissioner Dr. Eugenia stated that this collaboration is a cross-disciplinary collaboration that supports the KPPU’s work program. “Law No. 5 of 1999 serves as the KPPU’s basis for preventing monopolistic practices, cartels, and unfair market dominance. Therefore, collaboration is needed to support economic transformation,” she said. She stated that the KPPU continues its fight to eradicate cartels, as evidenced by the recent fines imposed on 97 online lending companies. FMIPA UNEJ and KPH Perhutani Jember Sign a Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen the Tri Dharma of Higher Education

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Jember and the Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) of Jember officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the East Java Regional Division of Perhutani and the University of Jember (March 12). The collaboration between the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Jember and Perhutani has been ongoing since 2017. At that time, a team of FMIPA lecturers, along with the Perhutani KPH of the Jember region, developed a High Conservation Value (HCV) document. This was followed by regular training for Perhutani field staff, facilitated by the FMIPA lecturer team, to increase their capacity in collecting and analyzing biodiversity and environmental quality data.

Various collaborative activities have been carried out over the past few years, but they do not yet have a formal legal basis in the form of a cooperation agreement. Since early 2026, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Jember (UNEJ) and the State Forestry Company (Perhutani) have initiated a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their partnership in facilitating the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi). The MoU was signed today by the Administrator of the Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) in Jember, Eko Teguh Prasetyo, and the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., as a commitment to strengthening the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, which encompass education, research, and community service within the Perhutani KPH Jember work area. Implementation of Environmental Learning, FMIPA UNEJ Collaborates with the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch

FMIPA UNEJ collaborated with the Jember Regional Forestry service branch (21/2). This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Head of the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch, Sapto Yuwono, S.Hut., M.M. The Dean of FMIPA appreciated the collaboration as a step in implementing environmental learning. “Environmental-based learning requires the initiation of activities in the Jember forestry area, including education, research, and community service,” he said. It was also said that FMIPA has collaborated with fostered villages, so that collaboration initiation with forestry partners is needed.

FMIPA through the Mathematics Department with remote sensing can initiate collaboration with the forestry service. “Forestry issues that can be collaborated on with FMIPA, especially mathematics, require sharing sessions to find the right solutions to overcome problems in the Jember forestry area,” continued Prof. Dafik. It is hoped that collaboration will be implemented soon in the form of teaching practices, internships, or other activities that can be collaborated on. The Cooperation Agreement between FMIPA and the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch has a duration of 2 (two) years since the PKS was signed. FMIPA University of Jember Establishes Cooperation with Faculty of Engineering, Bina Nusantara University

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember (FMIPA UNEJ), has established a partnership with the Faculty of Engineering Bina Nusantara (FT BINUS). This partnership was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D with the Dean of FT BINUS, Dr. Ir. Nina Nurdiani, S.T., M.T. (20/2). In his speech, Prof. Dafik said that FMIPA will continue to establish partnerships with several parties, both in the world of education and industry. “We, FMIPA, will do a lot of partnerships, especially in the fields of education and research. Today we are with BINUS, tomorrow with the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch,” he said. With FT BINUS, FMIPA will collaborate on chemistry, mathematics, and physics in the engineering field.

Dr. Ir. Nina Nurdiani, S.T., M.T. also said the same thing: with FMIPA UNEJ, there will be guest lecture activities, scientific meetings, and postgraduate lectures. “In our research, we can jointly supervise students in the form of sharing research knowledge; we can also share resources and joint publications,” said Nina. It is also stated in the PKS, the two faculties will be together in community service activities in special areas. “Service will be carried out in special areas with the introduction of MIPA and engineering sciences in the form of prototypes, modules, and counseling,” she continued. The Cooperation Agreement between FMIPA UNEJ and the Bina Nusantara Engineering Faculty has a duration of 3 (three) years since the PKS was determined and challenged. Continue reading
