The Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) organized a field assessment for the accreditation of the Master’s Program in Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Jember (UNEJ). The Rector of UNEJ, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng, IPM, and the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Drs. Bambang Kuswandi, M.Sc, Ph.D., along with the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., accompanied the accreditation assessment team during the opening ceremony of the field assessment (November 5-6). The assessment team consisted of Prof. Dr. Titin Siswantining, DEA from the University of Indonesia and Dr. Budi Surodjo, M.Si from Gadjah Mada University.
In his opening speech, Rector Iwan Taruna expressed his hope that the Mathematics Master’s Program would achieve an “EXCELLENT” accreditation status, which would contribute to improving UNEJ’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU). “I appreciate all the preparations made by the team, and I hope that the program will reach EXCELLENT status, which will ultimately improve UNEJ’s IKU,” he said. The Rector also thanked the support provided by various UNEJ institutions, which have always been involved in the accreditation process. “There has been a lot of support from UNEJ institutions, such as LPMPP, LP2M, UPA TIK, Graduate School, UPA Library, and it is evident that the leaders of these institutions are present today,” he added.
Next, the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Drs. Bambang Kuswandi, M.Sc, Ph.D., presented the profile of the University of Jember. He highlighted several national and international achievements by UNEJ students, faculty, and institutions. “Recently, UNEJ has achieved numerous national and international accomplishments, ranging from students and faculty to institutional recognition,” he explained. He also noted that these achievements were supported by continuously improving facilities.
The Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., shared the Rector’s hope that the Mathematics Master’s Program would achieve an EXCELLENT accreditation status. “I hope that the hard work of the team will bear fruit, leading to an EXCELLENT accreditation result for the Mathematics Master’s Program,” he said.
During the opening of the field assessment, both Prof. Dr. Titin Siswantining, DEA, and Dr. Budi Surodjo, M.Si, expressed their hopes that all sessions scheduled over the two days would run smoothly. “We hope that all sessions in this field assessment will proceed well, according to the data in the LKPS that has been uploaded,” said Prof. Dr. Titin Siswantining, DEA.
The first day began with a session with the Faculty Leadership, Program Management, and the team from LPMPP UNEJ. The presentation was led by the Dean and accompanied by the Vice Deans of FMIPA UNEJ. After a break, the session continued with the task force from the Mathematics Master’s Program to confirm the LKPS data and other relevant information from the Program Management Unit (UPPS) with Dr. Budi Surodjo, M.Si. In another room, Prof. Dr. Titin Siswantining, DEA, met with the faculty and students of the Mathematics Master’s Program, followed by a session with administrative staff.
On the second day, the assessment team conducted checks on the facilities and infrastructure of the Mathematics Master’s Program and supporting units such as the UPA Library, LPMPP, and Medical Center, led by Dr. Budi Surodjo, M.Si. Feedback sessions were held with Prof. Dr. Titin Siswantining, DEA. The day concluded with the signing of the assessment report and the field assessment minutes by the two assessors and the Dean of FMIPA, accompanied by the Head of the Mathematics Master’s Program. The field assessment of the Mathematics Master’s Program was officially closed with the handover of the assessment report and minutes.
