As a token of respect for their service and dedication, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the farewell ceremony for the Faculty’s Lecturers and Education Staff (12/11) took place in the Physics Department Auditorium. The ceremony was attended by the Dean of FMIPA, the leadership, and invited guests, along with the 2025 FMIPA retirees. The four FMIPA retirees were Prof. Ir. Bambang Sugiharto, M.Agr.Sc., D.Agr.Sc., drh. Wuryanti Handayani, M.Sc., Drs. Rudju Winarsa, M.Kes., and Dulkolim, A.md. In his remarks, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the farewell was a special occasion. “It is truly special to see off our fellow lecturers and education staff as they enter retirement. They have provided service, contributed, and have become role models for us,” he said.
The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) described them as role models, having fulfilled their duty to develop the nation’s next generation through their dedication during their service at FMIPA UNEJ. “These retirees can also be considered passive income for the institution, having instilled and imparted knowledge to future generations, and that will be a continuous charity,” he continued. Prof. Dafik also quoted one of the Prophet’s sayings: “The best people are those who live long and whose life benefits many.” In his closing remarks, the Dean expressed his gratitude to the institution and the retirees who have dedicated their knowledge, energy, and time to FMIPA UNEJ.
Prof. Ir. Bambang Sugiharto, M.Agr.Sc., D.Agr.Sc., one of the retirees, expressed his gratitude for the support of the institution and colleagues during his service at FMIPA. “I joined FMIPA in 1997, previously at FAPERTA, then was asked for assistance at several institutions, but I have remained a part of FMIPA, all thanks to the support of the institution and colleagues,” he said. This support has made Prof. Prof. Bambang has made numerous contributions to the advancement of education through his research and community service. Previously, Prof. Bambang was honored with his retirement at the Plant Biotechnology Symposium, held by the Biology Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the Integrated Waste Management and Laboratory (PL2T) Unit (UPA) at UNEJ.
Drs. Rudju Winarsa, M.Kes., who is also retiring, expressed his gratitude for being a part of FMIPA UNEJ. “I take this opportunity to apologize for the constructive criticism I have repeatedly offered for the advancement of education at FMIPA, UNEJ, and Indonesia,” he said. He emphasized that today’s education requires direct observation and practice, not just listening in class. As a memento and appreciation, the Dean of FMIPA presented souvenirs to the retirees and took a group photo with all the guests. The event concluded with a friendly gathering and lunch.
