Located in the FMIPA UNEJ parking lot, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially opened the Pembinaan dan Pengembangan Mahasiswa Baru (PPMB) at FMIPA Jember University in 2023 (16/9). “This year’s PPMB implementation will be fully offline again, which will be carried out every Saturday from September 9 to September 30, 2023,” he said. The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ hopes that all new students will be able to manage their time and maintain their health so they can take part in PPMB 2023 amidst the busy schedule of lectures from morning to evening with mandatory courses that must be taken.

“Manage your time as best as possible, maintain your diet, and rest because PPMB 2023 at the weekend is when your energy is fully devoted to lectures and practicums,” he advised. Like last year, FMIPA UNEJ will focus on the Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM). There will be material on controlling ideas and PKM writing training. FMIPA concentrates on PKM because it hopes that with the many new students this year, there will be several groups that will be able to penetrate the national level. Other national-level competitions were also promoted by the presenters.

In the previous week, Deputy Dean III for Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si., started the opening of PPMB FMIPA UNEJ 2023 by inviting new students to take advantage of this activity to get to know FMIPA, ORMAWA, and also PKM. “We design PPMB FMIPA activities to be as interesting as possible so that you don’t get bored but get maximum benefits,” he said. Vice Dean III FMIPA UNEJ also advised seniors to set a good example, and there is no such thing as violence in any form.

PPMB participants will be given an introduction to student organizations at FMIPA Jember University. For your information, ORMAWA at FMIPA UNEJ includes UKM TITIK, SPORA, PALAPA, IONS, LPMM Alpha, 4 HMJ, as well as BEM and BPM FMIPA. It is hoped that all new students can choose ORMAWA according to their wishes so that their interests and talents can be channeled. “Each ORMAWA will be given a session to introduce their profile so that participants can choose according to their interests and talents,” said the PPMB 2023 Committee.

To train cooperation between new students, the PPMB 2023 Committee held simple outbound activities as well as archery activities. “We also train teamwork and cooperation through an outbound agenda with a simple game of flowing water in a container in a chain,” said one of the PPMB 2023 committee members. In the following weeks, participants will get interesting activities until closing with a surprise prepared by the PPMB FMIPA UNEJ 2023 committee.
