Dini Ramadhani, S.Si. alumni of Biology Department, FMIPA UNEJ Class of 2010, shared their experience of getting a job from a Quality Control until now as a Technician of Lab. Teknologi Pakan Jurusan Peternakan, Politeknik Negeri Jember. Dini is very familiar with sharing tricks with prospective graduates at the Alumni Sharing event (5/5). “I had 2 jobs as QC at different companies in 2015 until November 2016 I finally became a laboratory technician at POLIJE,” said Dini.
Dini also shared a short trick to get a job after graduating from college. “Sharing alumni is very good as a forum for sharing information, especially job vacancies or starting my own business. I will share experiences when applying for jobs, interviews and tricks to get a job,” he said. In addition to the value of the certificate, supporting skills are needed so that companies or agencies are interested in recruiting us. These skills can be obtained while in college or outside through various media that are now easy to find.
“Additional value in the form of skills will add to our provisions when applying for jobs. At that time I already had laboratory management skills, microbiological analysis and audience management which were additional points in my curriculum vitae,” he recalls. Dini said FMIPA alumni also had several advantages such as being the top choice for industrial QC department, also the favorite choice of non-QC companies, wide employment opportunities and of course FMIPA had strong alumni to share information on job vacancies in various fields.
Dini also invited the participants to have a dialogue about plans for the prospective graduates to do after graduation. And unexpectedly, several participants said that they had applied for jobs and even some of them had been accepted and were ready to work in the near future. There are those who are in the process of applying at the company as QC and there are also those who are waiting to enter work at Bank BCA. “I am in the process of applying at PT. Freeport Indonesia, hopefully I can qualify and work there.” said the prospective graduate from Department of Physics.
Alumni Sharing Period VI for the Academic Year 2023/2023 is conceptualized informally, to make it easier for prospective graduates to interact with alumni in various experiences. “We design this Alumni Sharing as far as possible from a formal impression, so that all of you can ask alumni questions so that two-way communication is formed,” said the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. when opening the show.
On this occasion the Dean invited prospective graduates to fill out a tracer study. “The first step after graduation and going into society later is to fill out a tracer study, this is important to help our juniors and almamater,” he hoped. The dean also again invited the graduates to prepare themselves for the graduation procession, because it will be the best memories for a lifetime. “Tomorrow it will be broadcast on UNEJ’s YouTube channel, so give the best memories, especially me appearing to meet me and the Chancellor of UNEJ,” he concluded.
