The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, held the Second International Basic Science Conference, or IBSC 2024 (8/10). Held in the 3rd floor of the UNEJ Entrepreneurship Building, this year the theme was “AI at the Frontier of Natural Sciences: Trends and Future Directions.” Presenting keynote speakers: Prof. Dr. Ismail Naci CANGÜL from Bursa Uludag University, Turkey; Dr. S. Stalin from SASTRA Deemed to be University, India; Prof. Dr. Ing. Hendro Wicaksono from Constructor University Bremen gGmbH, Germany; and Dr. M. Kamaraj from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India. The 2nd IBSC 2024 was held in a hybrid manner, attended by 53 participants, and Dr. M. Kamaraj from India was present at UNEJ to provide material.
The 2nd IBSC 2024 was officially opened by Prof. Drs. Bambang Kuswandi, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Rector of UNEJ for planning, cooperation, and information systems. In his speech, Prof. Bambang said that IBSC is a conference to disseminate knowledge, interact with experts, and strengthen professional networks. “IBSC is a forum for discussion and sharing to support the advancement of science and technology,” he said. It is hoped that the output of the conference discussing the theme of artificial intelligence will be able to make natural science the forefront of future trends and directions of research.
Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., said in his opening speech that The 2nd IBSC 2024 is a conference that provides an opportunity for scientists to discuss and encourage international research collaboration. “I would like to thank the keynote who will share their knowledge and the participants who present their research results for us to discuss and make international collaboration in the future,” he said. Prof. Dafik also gave his appreciation to Dr. M. Kamaraj from India, who was willing to attend in person at The 2nd IBSC 2024.
Dr. rer. Nat. Fuad Bahrul Ulum, S.Si., M.Sc., Chairman of the 2nd IBSC 2024, said that 53 participants will be divided into 5 parallel rooms to present their materials. “The output of IBSC 2024 will be published to AIP Proceedings with the Scopus index after all participants have presented their materials,” he explained. Fuad also expressed his gratitude for the support of the leadership of FMIPA, UNEJ, and the entire committee team until The 2nd IBSC 2024 was held.
After the opening, the plenary session continued, starting with Dr. M. Kamaraj, who delivered the material offline. In sequence online Prof. Dr. -Ing. Hendro Wicaksono, Prof. Dr. Ismail Naci CANGÜL, and closed by Dr. S. Stalin. Continued with a parallel session divided into 5 rooms with the fields of biology, physics and chemistry, and mathematics.
