Halal bi Halal Eid al-Fitr 1445 H Big Family of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

“Ramadan has passed; hopefully we will be forgiven, all sins will be erased, and we can be reunited with Ramadhan next year,” began the lecture of the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., in the Halal bi Halal event for the Big Family of FMIPA UNEJ (23/4). In his lecture, the dean touched on faith and sincerity when welcoming and carrying out worship in the month of Ramadan. “To get maghfiroh, you need faith accompanied by sincerity, because fasting is a direct matter with Allah SWT, so sincerity is the main capital, not for something and for something in carrying it out,” he continued.

It is also said that sincerity is more difficult than istiqomah because sincerity glorifies the name of Allah SWT. “So even though we are ignored by people, we are still willing to do something for the sake of Allah; that is a very noble act,” said the dean in front of FMIPA residents and also the retired staff present. Until researchers from America raised sincerity in a study entitled Six Pillars of Character, which includes several characters, including trustworthiness, which includes sincerity, which means sincerity. Even now, our ministry has implemented it under the name character-based curriculum.

“So, in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, to teach good morals, which are accompanied by sincerity, which is related to the 6 pillars of character,” said Prof. Dafik. The Halal bi Halal event was guided and the reading of the holy verses of the Koran by students from the Chemistry Department. Still related to character, it is hoped that in the future, FMIPA, when UNEJ becomes PTNBH, will have a study program that prioritizes character. For example, in mathematics, the opening of data design and actuarial study programs opens up study programs that produce creative characters. “When BHMN can open and close study programs, we open those with high student interest and close those with low student interest,” he continued.

Returning to sincerity, sincere capital is needed to provide the best for the institution by working productively, including being sincere in establishing friendships with fellow colleagues. “Hopefully, FMIPA can always come together in harmony with the same fate as the best in terms of teaching, research, and service,” he hoped. At the end of the event, all FMIPA residents and retired staff members shook hands to forgive each other and strengthen ties. Halal bi halal FMIPA was also enlivened with the presentation of several songs from the Qosidah Dharma Wanita of the FMIPA UNEJ, “Zahroh Arroihanna“.
