Dr. Hidayat Teguh Wiyono, M.Pd., a lecturer at Department of Biology FMIPA delivered a Public Lecture in the context of separating from his retirement period (4/7). Mr. Teguh raised the theme “Integrasi Model Tematik Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi dengan KKN Mahasiswa untuk Mewujudkan Visi-Misi Lembaga (Jurusan)“. He shared various experiences while working directly in the community in developing super longan to assisting student Community Service Programs in the Baluran area and sentool plantations.
Mr. Teguh also mentioned that the vision and mission of the University of Jember and FMIPA are related to what he does, namely community service. “The vision and mission of FMIPA and UNEJ have alluded to what I am doing, I hope it will continue and have great opportunities not only for KKN but also for the implementation of MBKM,” he said. He gave the example of the sentool plantation which he last worked on, opening up many opportunities for BKP MBKM to be implemented there.
Likewise with the service in the Baluran area, FMIPA students can continue it through thematic KKN and can even collaborate with students from other faculties such as FISIP. “Local culture requires a social approach which opens opportunities for FISIP students to join,” he continued. That also applies to sentool plantations, FMIPA students can do KKN or carry out MBKM on the development side of longan or fish ponds while FISIP students can on the tourism development side.
“In the sentool plantation, through a cooperation agreement with FMIPA, there are very open opportunities for thematic KKN, MBKM and also the dedication of FMIPA lecturers. My team and I have started things like longan gardens, fast-water fish ponds, and plans to install street lights with micro hydro,” he continued. This is in line with the vision and mission of FMIPA and also the University of Jember.
Mr. Teguh also explained the schemes that can be carried out in implementing the thematic Tri Dharma Community Service in Higher Education in order to realize the vision and mission of the institution, in this case the department in the area where he has served. “Please take advantage of existing places such as residences, plantations, or other locations, of course using the TEGUH UNEJ password,” he concluded.
Previously in the welcoming session, Dr. Retno Wimbaningrum, Head of the Biology Department, FMIPA, expressed her gratitude for her dedication to Biology and for staying healthy as well as establishing friendship with all colleagues in the Biology Department. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. when he opened the public lecture, he invited Mr. Teguh to keep in touch, no longer as a colleague but as a FMIPA partner. “Many ideas have been given to FMIPA and we hope that they will continue no longer as colleagues but partners who support the vision and mission of FMIPA UNEJ,” he said.
The Public Lecture hosted by Rendy Setiawan, M.Si. was attended by all colleagues in the Biology Department, Chairperson and Secretary of the Department at FMIPA as well as Biology students. Several colleagues also conveyed messages and impressions including Hari Sulistiyowati, Ph.D., Dr. Asmoro Lelono, Dr. Kahar Muzakhar and Dr. rer. nat. Fuad Bahrul Ulum. They all thanked Mr. Teguh who had colored and raised the name of the Biology Department and hoped to continue communicating even with different ‘cars’.
