Mila Hidayatul Aula, Physics Master’s Student, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Participates in the [in]Visible Power Female Leadership Camp in Russia

Mila Hidayatul Aula, a Master of Physics student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jakarta (UNEJ), and ten other participants received full scholarships. She outperformed more than 220 applicants from 20 countries who registered for the [in]Visible Power Female Leadership Camp program, held from September 21-29, 2025, in Obninsk and Moscow. Mila, along with participants from 20 countries, had the opportunity to learn leadership, public communication, and career development strategies in science and technology. She believes this global insight will have a significant impact on the world of research in Indonesia. “I personally want to encourage international research collaborations focused on the safe and sustainable use of nuclear energy,” said Mila.

Mila said honesty and self-reflection in her motivational essay were key to her success. “The committee wants to know not only what we have achieved, but also the reasons behind it,” she continued. Research and scientific communication help demonstrate that participants must have a passion for playing an active role and inspiring others. Mila also had the opportunity to learn leadership, public communication, and career development strategies in science and technology. Mila believes this global insight will have a significant impact on the research world in Indonesia in general and her alma mater, the University of Jember, in particular. Physics Master’s Student from the FMIPA UNEJ Qualifies for Female Leadership Camp [in]Visible Power in Russia

Mila Hidayatul Aula, a student in the Physics Master’s Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Jember University (UNEJ), has been selected as a full scholarship recipient for the prestigious Female Leadership Camp program “[in]Visible Power.” The global event will be held from September 21-29, 2025, in Obninsk and Moscow, Russia. “FMIPA students from the University of Jember have once again achieved impressive international achievements in the nuclear sector,” said Prof. Dr. Sutisna, S.Pd., M.Si., Head of the Physics Master’s Program, FMIPA. The program is organized by Rosatom State Corporation to support the development of professional female leadership capacity in the nuclear sector and related fields globally. The incentive training camp format is designed to help participants develop personal career strategies, broaden their professional horizons, and strengthen cross-cultural connections.

Program registration opened in early June and closes on June 27, 2025. Prof. Sutisna explained that program applicants must undergo a rigorous selection process. “It all started with filling out the application form, attaching a motivational essay, and then submitting a professional background,” he said. After the registration period closed, the committee conducted a selection process from more than 220 applications received from over 20 countries. The selection process involved assessing motivational essays and professional backgrounds. “Thank God, from that number, 50 top participants were selected, and 10 of them were awarded full scholarships, including our Master of Physics student from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (UNEJ),” he concluded. Lecturers and Students of Biology Study Program, FMIPA UNEJ Win Second Winner in International Competition at NTU Taiwan

Arif Mohammad Siddiq, S.Si., M.Si., and Nayla Adila Taqiyya, lecturers and students of the Biology Study Program, FMIPA, who are members of the University of Jember team, managed to get the “Second Winner.” (3/10). The award was won at the 19th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium international competition at National Taiwan University. “This event is a reputable international event attended by 52 finalists from 10 countries,” said Arif. The participating countries are the United States, Nigeria, China, Taiwan, Mexico, Japan, India, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia. “Biology students from FMIPA are members of the UNEJ team together with students from FKEP, FT, FISIP, and FEB, with 2 lecturers from FMIPA and FT as supervisors,” he continued.

The symposium was organized by the Center for Weather and Climate Disaster Research (WCDR) of National Taiwan University (NTU). The activity took place at the GIS NTU Convention Center Taipei on October 1–3, 2024. This year’s theme is “Forging Sustainable and Resilient Futures: Science, Technology, and Innovation for Disaster Risk Reduction.” Several disasters and environmental issues are the topics of the competition. “The issues raised and discussed on this year’s agenda include earthquakes, weather, geological conservation, and water-related disasters,” explained Arif. Department of Mathematics FMIPA Student won Silver Medals at The iWareBatik International Hackathon Event 2021

Mita Kornilia Dewi, Departments of Mathematics Department’s student angkatan 2018, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNEJ with University of Jember team, won Silver Prime Defender – Distinction at iWareBatik Ideas International Hackathon Event 2021. “This event is an international event with judges from several countries such as Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Germany and Indonesia. who is a collaborator on the USI UNESCO Chair” said Mita. Mita also said that the selection stage started from University selection which was held on October 3-6, 2021 ago. Each University sends several delegates who will be re-selected to get best essay. Furthermore, the selected participants will participate in mentoring on 11-12 October 2021. For your infomation, besides Mita in University of Jember team, there are Aida Nur Azizah from Faculty of Computer Science and Ulfah Wahdiyani from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. They are guided by drg. Agustin Wulan Suci D., MDSc, ​​one of the lecturers at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Jember. After receiving briefing, the UNEJ team participated in the first round of the Hanckathon Competition which was held on October 15, 2021. “This round includes a presentation session to convey innovation, University of Jember team raised theme The Room Inside iWareBatik which is a new innovation to maintain application security,” continued girl who is also Official Campus Ambassador at International Model United Nations (IMUN).
