The Dean of the FMIPA UNEJ officially inaugurated the ORMAWA Management of FMIPA University of Jember for the 2026 period.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Jember University, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially inaugurated the Student Organization (ORMAWA) Management of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Jember University for the 2026 term (February 3) at the Auditorium of the Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ. In his remarks, the Dean conveyed the message to the ORMAWA management, emulating the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). “To the new management, we must embody the example of tabligh (prophetic teaching), conveying goodness, and being trustworthy in carrying out our duties in every FMIPA student organization agenda,” stated the Dean at the event attended by the Vice Deans, Department Heads, and ORMAWA Advisors. He continued with the principle of siddiq (honesty), which can be applied when reporting, and finally, fathonah (intelligence), which is intelligent, active in student organizations, and with a high GPA.

Prof. Dafik hopes that the FMIPA slogan “Create, Innovate, and Achieve” will continue to be echoed everywhere and embraced, especially by FMIPA students. “Let’s work together to realize this slogan and achieve the FMIPA slogan of 3.5 to the power of 4,” he continued. This slogan will serve as a benchmark for the advancement of FMIPA, especially for students, and the student organization (ORMAWA) administrators can contribute. “ORMAWA administrators must have the spirit of leading by example, encouraging others, and encouraging others, all while synergizing with FMIPA,” he concluded. In closing, the Dean congratulated the new administrators for the 2026 term and expressed his gratitude to the ORMAWA administrators for the 2025 term. Continue reading

CampusGov & Career Empowerment Webinar by Mochamad Noersjam Tohari, Deputy Director of Operations at PT. Surya Madistrindo

Badan Perwakilan Mahasiswa (BPM) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of East Java (UNEJ) held a CampusGov & Career Empowerment Webinar with Mochamad Noersjam Tohari, Deputy Director of Operations of PT Surya Madistrindo, a subsidiary of PT Gudang Garam Tbk, as a speaker. The theme was “Strengthening the Student Representative Body while Equipping Them with Soft Skills and Career Insights,” and it was opened by Dr. Esti Utarti, S.P., M.Si., Deputy Dean II of FMIPA UNEJ and also the advisor of BPM FMIPA. In her remarks, the Vice Dean II stated that the webinar was held to celebrate the 27th anniversary of FMIPA and the 61st anniversary of UNEJ. Mochamad Noersjam Tohari, familiarly known as Noersjam, shared insights related to soft skill development and preparation for entering the workforce. The webinar was attended by 210 participants from across Indonesia, including those from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia. Participants included not only students but also members of the general public.

In his presentation, Noersjam emphasized that career readiness is determined not only by academic ability, but also by soft skills and behavioral competencies that demonstrate a candidate’s professionalism. He explained that initial documents, such as the application letter and curriculum vitae (CV), must be neatly structured, concise, and error-free to demonstrate the applicant’s seriousness in participating in the selection process. Open Talk BPM, Aspiration Towards Action: Realizing Sustainable Synergy of FMIPA

Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. along with the Vice Deans, Head of Department, Head of Laboratory, Head of General Affairs and Deputy Coordinator of Fields in FMIPA attended the Open Talk agenda (16/5). Open Talk is an activity held by the Student Representative Body (BPM) of FMIPA UNEJ with the theme Aspiration Towards Action: Realizing Sustainable Synergy of FMIPA. The Dean gave the aspirations of this agenda as a means of communication between students and the ranks of faculty leaders. “The Faculty of MIPA is not only lecturers or education staff but also students, therefore it is called the academic community, so through this agenda we work together to advance FMIPA,” he said. Prof. Dafik also said that student input to the leadership is a form of care and affection for the leadership in order to work together to maintain and advance FMIPA.

Open Talk raised current issues in the FMIPA environment related to academics, facilities, services, and student activities in general. Student representatives through student organizations provided input and questions to be responded to by the FMIPA leadership. Academic issues about changing schedules became a topic of discussion. Students often face schedule changes, there are several reasons and the solution given is communication with the lecturer. “Communicate with the lecturer, convey the reasons, objections to reach an agreed meeting point so that no one is harmed,” said the Dean of FMIPA. Dean of FMIPA Officially Inaugurates ORMAWA FMIPA Jember University in 2025

The Dean of the FMIPA Faculty at UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially swore in the new leadership of the ORMAWA (Student Organizations) at FMIPA UNEJ for the 2025 term on January 20, 2025, in the FMIPA Physics Department Auditorium. In his speech, the Dean encouraged the new leaders to continue the programs from the previous leadership. “To the new leaders, continue the work of the outgoing leaders, keep developing for the progress of the organization, and help achieve recognition for FMIPA,” said the Dean. He emphasized that the goal of the FMIPA recognition program is to promote the faculty’s name, and hopes ORMAWA will be actively involved in it.

Prof. Dafik also agreed with the theme of the inauguration, which is “ORMAWA Synergy to Create a Creative, Innovative, and Accomplished FMIPA UNEJ.” He shared that this slogan was first introduced when he started his leadership, along with a motto for students: “Three point five to the power of four.” This slogan will guide the progress of FMIPA, especially for students, and the ORMAWA leaders are expected to play a key role. “The ORMAWA leaders must lead by example, inspire in the middle, and provide support from behind so that we can all work together with FMIPA,” he concluded. ORMAWA FMIPA University of Jember Management in 2024 Inaugurated

Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially inaugurated the management of ORMAWA FMIPA Jember University for the 2024 term (31/1) in the FMIPA Physics Department Auditorium. The dean also advised that students’ main task is to study and be able to join organizations while maintaining their achievements. “Being an ORMAWA administrator is a good thing; it is also supported by the main role of being a student, namely studying and, of course, achieving,” began Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ at an event attended by Deputy Deans, Heads of Departments, and ORMAWA’s coach.

The dean further said that he should be proud to be an FMIPA student because jobs in the science and technology sector are currently needed. “As stated by Prof. Akmaloka from ITB, 80% of jobs require science and technology students, while only 30% of science and technology students are in Indonesia, so we must be proud and prepared to compete to achieve that,” he said. He also touched on the important role of students in study program accreditation. Students are also the determinants of the success of a study program in achieving top accreditation, and this will be useful again for students when applying for jobs. Continue reading

The Dean Inaugurated the Management of ORMAWA FMIPA University of Jember for Term of Service in 2023

“Thank you to all the 2022 ORMAWA management who have carried out their duties well, and for the new 2023 administrators to prepare themselves to provide the best for FMIPA,” the opening remarks of Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. in the inauguration of the Management of ORMAWA FMIPA University of Jember for the 2023 service period (16/1) in Lecture Room 1 of the Chemistry Department, FMIPA.

Furthermore, the Dean hopes that in the future the student affairs agenda can be carried out properly through careful planning and guidance from the supervisor. Present at the inauguration of FMIPA leadership, ORMAWA supervisors and new and old ORMAWA FMIPA UNEJ administrators. The Dean also asked the new management to communicate with their predecessors to improve performance and achievements. “Communicate with the old management, as we know the previous BEM management was able to make it to the finals of the 2022 ORMAWA Community Service Program, ask for tricks to achieve that or more,” he said.
