Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Participates in Series of 61st Anniversary Celebrations for the University of Jember

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences participated in a series of events celebrating the 61st anniversary of the University of Jember. The agenda began with activities to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember (UNEJ). “We have prepared seven events to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and also to enliven the 61st anniversary of the University of Jember,” said Prof. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember. Three international seminars, two webinars, a visiting professorship, and student competitions were prepared to enliven the series of anniversary events. The Dean of the Faculty stated that the three international seminars featured competent speakers from both within and outside the country. They included a professor specializing in gravity from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), and invited practitioners to share how to hone skills for the workplace.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, also actively participated in various UNEJ anniversary competitions by sending delegates. It began with a Fun Futsal competition between work units, which saw the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Jember University (UNEJ) take second place in 2025. 3×3 basketball also participated, followed by badminton and table tennis, which took place in mid-November. Volleyball, using a new format, also participated, but was unsuccessful, finishing fourth at the end of the tournament. “We, the leadership, always fully support every anniversary competition each year by sending delegates and supporters to maintain the unity of FMIPA UNEJ,” said Prof. Dafik. The Dean of the FMIPA of UNEJ Opens the Series of 27th Anniversary of FMIPA, Welcomes the 61st Anniversary of UNEJ

Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, officially opened the 27th anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the FMIPA parking lot (3/10). The celebrations began with the SPORA CUP 2025 SPECTRA. In his opening remarks, the Dean emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle through exercise. “Maintaining good health to support your work or study routines is crucial, and regular exercise is key,” he emphasized. A healthy mind fosters creativity, fosters innovation, and fosters achievement. This aligns with the FMIPA UNEJ slogan: “Create, Innovate, and Achieve.” He stated that the FMIPA anniversary celebrations also serve to welcome the 61st anniversary of the University of Jember in 2025.

“We will also continue the agenda of UNEJ’s 61st anniversary. Let’s celebrate it with various competitions in the 2025 SPORA CUP,” said Prof. Dafik. Dafik. At the end of his remarks, the Dean urged the competition to maintain sportsmanship and uphold unity and togetherness. Accompanied by the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si., the Dean cut the ribbon to officially open the series of events commemorating the 27th anniversary of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (UNEJ). The SPORA CUP will feature basketball, badminton, futsal, volleyball, singing, and e-sports. Student delegations from each department will participate, and the participation of FMIPA staff and lecturers in the volleyball and futsal competitions will also be enlivened. Night of the 26th Anniversary Celebration of the FMIPA Faculty at UNEJ, Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Jember University

The highlight event of the 26th Anniversary of the FMIPA Faculty at University of Jember was held in a festive atmosphere last night (24/12). It was made even more special with the presence of the Rector of University of Jember, accompanied by the Vice Rectors I, III, and IV, as well as the Chair of the Senate of UNEJ, all of whom attended to celebrate the occasion. The Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his happiness and emotional gratitude for this year’s anniversary celebration. “On behalf of FMIPA, I would like to thank the Rector, Vice Rectors I, III, IV, and the Chair of the Senate of UNEJ for attending the 26th anniversary celebration of FMIPA,” said Prof. Dafik. He also acknowledged the hard work of the organizing committee, a collaboration between the BEMF (Student Government) of FMIPA and all members of the FMIPA community at UNEJ. “I hope that at 26 years old, FMIPA will continue to innovate, create, and achieve even greater success,” he added.

Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng, IPM, the Rector of Jember University, congratulated FMIPA on successfully holding the anniversary celebration. “I extend my appreciation to FMIPA for celebrating its 26th anniversary while also joining in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Jember University,” he said. The Rector also expressed his hopes that FMIPA would continue to contribute to the progress of Jember University. During the event, the Dean of FMIPA presented a ceremonial rice cone (tumpeng) to the Rector of Jember University. Chess, Badminton and Volleyball Competitions in the framework of the “MIPA Moving Healthy” Event

The “MIPA Bergerak Sehat” event continues with a chess tournament. Representatives from various departments and the FMIPA deanery competed in chess in front of the Biology Department building. The players were divided into two groups, and the tournament was played in two rounds. The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., joined in the fun by participating in the chess match. “As I mentioned during the opening, now it’s time to compete in the chess tournament,” he said. As a warm-up, the Dean played a practice match with Prof. Dr. Kahar Muzakhar, S.Si. Although they were in the same group, they didn’t face each other directly. “Let’s practice first. Even though we’re in the same group, we haven’t met yet. I’ll wait for you in the final, Prof. Kahar,” said Prof. Dafik.

At the start of the tournament, four chess pieces and a timer were provided for each group. The organizers set rules that all participants had to follow. “We’ve set the rules, and we’re playing in the spirit of good health and sportsmanship, following the ‘MIPA Bergerak Sehat’ motto,” said Budiyono, one of the organizers. In the final round, Sapik from the Dean’s office faced Muhayat Zamroni. After a fierce match, Muhayat Zamroni emerged as the winner. Welcoming the 60th Anniversary of UNEJ, FMIPA holds a MIPA Moves for Health Competition

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the University of Jember (UNEJ) and the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), FMIPA held a competition with the theme “MIPA Moves for Health.” The event was opened by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., on November 26 at the Mathematics Department building. He explained that the competition was organized to promote health and physical activity, as a way to celebrate these milestones. Prof. Dafik emphasized that staying healthy helps people stay active and motivated. This is especially important because FMIPA is supporting UNEJ’s preparation to become a Public Service Agency (PTN BH). “We need strong stamina to face the challenges ahead, so this activity is very useful,” he said.

The event, led by Dr. Esti Utarti, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, featured a variety of competitions: table tennis, badminton, volleyball, chess, and a healthy walk. “Let’s participate and watch the competitions. I will also join the chess competition,” said Dr. Esti. In his closing remarks, Prof. Dafik encouraged participants to maintain sportsmanship, saying that winning or losing is normal, but the most important thing is to enjoy the prizes. “Competitions have winners and losers, but we must keep our unity. The event will end with a healthy walk, bazar and according to Vice Dean 2, there will be many prizes,” he added with a smile. Continue reading →

Ceremony and Rapat Terbuka Senat celebrate Dies Natalis 57th Universitas Jember

In Auditorium of Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, civitas akademika attended ceremony and Rapat Terbuka Senat University of Jember (10/11). Commemoration the 57th anniversary University of Jember was carried out by each work unit online and offline with led Rector of University of Jember. Using videotron and zoom meetings to broadcast the dies natalis agenda, civitas FMIPA attended event led by Dean of FMIPA UNEJ. In his mandate, Rektor UNEJ, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng. said that the 57th Anniversary of University of Jember which coincided with Hari Pahlawan on November 10, we can take lessons from the struggles of the heroes and founders of the University of Jember. “Today, with all the dedication we have, University of Jember continues to contribute to realizing the ideals of the nation’s progress such as the fighters and founders of Triump Viraat” he said. The theme of the 57th anniversary of the University of Jember is “Kampus Gotong Royong untuk Indonesia Tangguh dan Tumbuh“. Rektor said that togetherness and mutual cooperation would further accelerate the progress of the University of Jember, making a real contribution to the life of the community, nation and state. At the end of his speech, Iwan Taruna invited the entire academic community of the University of Jember to have integrity together, to advance University of Jember. “Let’s continue to change to provide the best service to stakeholders.
