100th Undergraduate and 73rd Postgraduate Judiciary FMIPA UNEJ 10 Academic Year Period 2023/2024

FMIPA UNEJ held the 100th Undergraduate (S1) and 73rd Postgraduate (S2) Judicial Conference at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, for the 10 Academic Year Period 2023-2024 (16/5). 40 prospective female graduates attended the open meeting of the FMIPA senate in the public lecture room of the FMIPA Biology Department. Led and opened directly by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., the procession took place solemnly. In his graduation speech, the dean congratulated the graduates. “On behalf of the institution, I would like to convey my congratulations on graduation and for the achievements of at least 4 years in completing studies at FMIPA UNEJ,” began the Dean of FMIPA. It is also said that the knowledge gained will be a provision for life in this world and the hereafter.

“As the Prophet said, if you want to be successful in this world and the hereafter then gain as much knowledge as possible, just like if you go to war the main weapon is knowledge,” he continued. It was also said that a bachelor’s degree is not the end of the story, it is actually a challenge to no longer burden parents. Prof. Dafik invited the graduates to become independent people without any more complaints from them. “So the competency standards provided to you are sufficient to be a provision for navigating the ark of life in the future,” said the Dean who was accompanied by the Vice Deans and the FMIPA UNEJ Senate at the senate session.

Furthermore, the dean appealed to prospective graduates to take advantage of existing opportunities, especially start-up companies, which are now starting to mushroom. Also, for those who want to continue their studies, at FMIPA there are four master’s study programs. “For those who are interested in becoming lecturers, there are also many opportunities to continue their studies. For those who want to dedicate themselves to becoming teachers, there is a PPG program with a scholarship for 2 years, and after graduating, they will become teachers,” said Prof. Dafik. At the end of his speech, the Dean invited the graduates to always be grateful to be part of FMIPA graduates, who have the flexibility of job openings everywhere in various fields to choose from.

Next, the reading of the FMIPA Dean’s decision letter regarding the 99th Judicial Session of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University, for the 10 Academic Year Period 2023-2024 by Vice Dean I of FMIPA, Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D. Followed by congratulations from the Dean, accompanied by the Deputy Dean and Heads of Departments, to all graduates. In this judicial period, Moh. Ikmal Alfi Rizqoni, S.Sc., from the Biology Masters Study Program won the title of highest GPA graduate with a commendation of 3.98. The man born in Banyuwangi completed 1 year, 10 months, and 26 days of study, while the best FMIPA undergraduate graduate was Yuni Utaminingrum from the Study Program Bachelor of Biology with a GPA 3.86 and a length of study of 3 years, 4 months, and 8 days.

Documentation Judiciary of FMIPA UNEJ

Specially at this judiciary, Prof. Dr. V. Swaminathan from the Faculty of Mathematics, School of Arts, Sciences, Humanities, and Education, SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur, India, was present to wish the FMIPA graduates congratulations and success. “Congratulations to the graduates; graduation is the beginning of a challenge for all of you to be able to achieve a better future,” he said. Prof. Swaminathan is currently at the University of Jember as the SASTRA INDO G-20 chair and is visiting 20 countries as a continuation of the G-20 Summit program in India some time ago. In his message, he invited graduates to further explore their abilities to seize opportunities. “Continue learning, because graduation is not the end of learning but the first step to gaining more knowledge,” he concluded.

A motivational oration at the judiciary was delivered by Hendra Setiawan, S.Si. Supervisor, Product Specialist at Daewoong Pharmaceutical. The 2012 Chemistry Study Program alumnus invited the graduates to continue to be enthusiastic after graduation, of course, in looking for employment opportunities. “As MIPA graduates, we should be proud because we can enter all fields, starting with companies or later becoming entrepreneurs like me. Apart from working in the pharmaceutical sector, I also have a car washing business and sell makarono,” he said. Hendra reminded us to always be confident that FMIPA UNEJ alumni are able to compete for jobs. “There’s no need to be afraid because of FMIPA UNEJ because we can definitely do it because it is very well processed while studying.” Tomorrow, prospective graduates will take part in graduation rehearsals, and on Saturday, they will take part in the graduation process at the Jember University Auditorium.
