FMIPA UNEJ held the 79th Postgraduate (S2) and 111th Undergraduate (S2) Graduation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period 2, Academic Year 2025/2026 (19/9). Held at the Auditorium of the Entrepreneurship Building, University of Jember. In the graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. invited the graduation to immediately prepare to compete with job seekers. “You all have to be ready, because there are so many competitors, so it’s not just GPA, but creativity is needed as a determinant of the future,” he said. With creativity, you can create opportunities to open your own business, become an entrepreneur without having to depend on job vacancies.

Prof. Dafik stated that with the new curriculum, students are taught about entrepreneurship so they can become self-sufficient. “The new curriculum has added entrepreneurship, so that they can create their own jobs through entrepreneurship,” he continued. He also emphasized lifelong education, so that continuous learning can be achieved in the future. The Dean led an open meeting of the FMIPA senate, accompanied by the Vice Deans I and III of FMIPA. In attendance were all members of the FMIPA senate, as well as invited guests from representatives of the FMIPA UNEJ teaching and administrative staff.

Next, the reading of the decree of the Dean of FMIPA regarding the 79th Postgraduate (S2) and 111th Undergraduate Graduation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember for the 2nd period of the 2025/2026 Academic Year by the Deputy Dean I of FMIPA Prof. Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D. Followed by congratulations from the Deputy Deans and the Heads of Departments to all graduates. In this period of graduation, Muhammad Ikrom, S.Si. from the Mathematics Masters Study Program achieved the highest GPA graduate predicate of 3.89 with a study period of 1 year 5 months 3 days. Meanwhile, the highest GPA graduate of the Undergraduate Program was achieved by Nurul Kholifah from the Physics Undergraduate Study Program with a GPA of 3.89 with a study period of 3 years 8 months 30 days. The fastest graduate was Sabrina Fasha Bilqis from the Biology Bachelor’s Program with a GPA of 3.71 and a study period of 3 years, 5 months, and 1 day.

The motivational speech at the graduation ceremony was delivered by Ingka Maris, S.Si., M.Si., an alumnus of the 2015 Bachelor of Mathematics Study Program and the 2019 Master of Mathematics Study Program. The owner of Ingka Maris Makeup revealed the secret for FMIPA graduates to be competitive in the world of work. “We must never give up in order to achieve our hopes, I myself have experienced it, I once failed a lecturer test at a university in Banyuwangi, but I got up and succeeded in creating my own MUA gallery,” she said. Ingka also reminded people not to listen to ridicule or sarcasm if graduates do not work in offices.

Ingka said, use this as encouragement to create your own business in the future, not relying on job openings. “As the Dean said, we alumni shouldn’t rely too much on job openings, but rather create our own businesses, and we should be the ones creating them to recruit more workers,” she concluded. With his gallery, Ingka now has a successful gallery with several employees. The graduates will attend the graduation ceremony this coming weekend at the Jember University Auditorium.
