The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember (FMIPA UNEJ) collaborates with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Mataram (FMIPA UNRAM). This collaboration was marked by the signing of Perjanjian Kerja Sama (PKS) between the Plt. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Dean of FMIPA UNRAM, Dr. Rahadi Wirawan, S.Si., M.Si., online (7/3). The signing of the PKS manuscript was also attended by the Deputy Deans, Heads of Study Programs, and collaboration teams from both faculties. According to the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, the implementation of cooperation with FMIPA UNRAM has begun even before the signing of the manuscript.
“Implementation of arrangements, or IA, in the field of publication is ready to be carried out even before signing the PKS manuscript; this will help with reporting or output from the collaboration that we will carry out,” began the Dean of FMIPA at UNEJ. It was also conveyed that at FMIPA UNEJ, there are several SINTA-accredited journals that are ready to collaborate to realize the scope of cooperation between the two faculties. We hope that in the future we can visit each other to see directly the infrastructure of the two faculties and strengthen friendship and cooperation.
The introduction from the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ was warmly welcomed by the Dean of FMIPA UNRAM, Dr. Rahadi Wirawan, S.Si., M.Si. According to him, the institution he leads is focusing on establishing cooperation to strengthen the MBKM Indeks Kinerja Utama (IKU) and lecturer research output KPI. “We are pursuing research collaboration between our lecturers and other institutions to achieve international recognition; apart from that, we are also preparing several study programs to be accredited,” he said. And with this collaboration, the Dean of FMIPA UNRAM can support these efforts in institutional development.
Vice Dean II, FMIPA UNEJ, Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., who was at the event as moderator, said that the accreditation of study programs at FMIPA UNEJ was 50% superior, so it would be in harmony if there was a joint discussion regarding accreditation with FMIPA UNRAM. “We can establish communication about accreditation because at FMIPA UNEJ, several study programs achieved excellence, and one study program even achieved the ASIIN seal,” she explained. Vice Dean II, FMIPA UNEJ, also touched on points on the scope of cooperation between the two parties.
The scope of cooperation between FMIPA UNEJ and FMIPA UNRAM includes research and development in the fields of Mathematics and Natural Sciences; science and technology Human Resources (HR) exchange and apprenticeship; implementation of independent campus learning activities, especially mentoring internships and research for students in the fields of Mathematics and Natural Sciences; implementation of lectures, seminars and workshops; visits to research and development facilities and infrastructure; exchange and utilization of data and information; use of research and development facilities and infrastructure in accordance with applied procedures; preparation of intellectual property documents and publication of activity results; and monitoring, evaluation and reporting of activities.
The publication points that had been initiated in the collaboration were also highlighted by the Vice Dean I of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., who hopes that publications can accommodate lecturers’ research output per year or even per semester. “I propose that the exchange of scientific articles by lecturers begins with a pre-review process by each faculty before being uploaded to the journal so that hopefully every year and even semester there will be articles submitted to both faculties,” he hoped.
The end of the event was closed by showing each other the 5-year PKS manuscript between the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ and the Dean of FMIPA UNRAM. Followed by the IA text by Deputy Dean I FMIPA UNEJ, who is also a chemistry lecturer at FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., with Chemistry Lecturer FMIPA UNRAM, Dr. Dhony Hermanto, S.Si., M.Si. Furthermore, cooperative communications will be discussed through correspondence between the two parties, FMIPA UNEJ represented by Vice Dean II FMIPA UNEJ, Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., and FMIPA UNRAM by Mamika Ujiita Romdhini, S.Si., M.Si.
