FMIPA UNEJ Establishes International Cooperation in Academic and Joint Publication with Two Universities from India

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, last month signed a cooperation agreement with the SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, India, and SASTRA Deemed-to-be University, India. The first signing, SRM Institute, Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., with Dr. R. Shivakumar, Chairman, SRM Group of Educational Institutions. The Dean of FMIPA appreciated the cooperation as a follow-up step from IBSC 2024, which invited Dr. Kamaraj as the keynote speaker. Five main activities were discussed, which are the agenda for the next three years, namely student exchanges and guest lecturer programs, joint development of academic programs in various fields of science, collaboration on international scientific research and publications, exchange of teaching materials and sources of academic information, and scientific activities.

“Through this cooperation, it is hoped that academic activities at the international level of FMIPA can be increased, as well as joint papers to improve the quality and quantity of FMIPA lecturer publications,” said Prof. Dafik. The second signing, by the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Vice Chancellor of SASTRA Deemed to be University, Dr. S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, Ph.D., GMP. Similar to the SRM Institute, this collaboration is a strategic step for FMIPA UNEJ to expand its international network and strengthen the quality of the Tridharma of higher education, especially in the fields of education and research. Implementation of Environmental Learning, FMIPA UNEJ Collaborates with the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch

FMIPA UNEJ collaborated with the Jember Regional Forestry service branch (21/2). This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Head of the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch, Sapto Yuwono, S.Hut., M.M. The Dean of FMIPA appreciated the collaboration as a step in implementing environmental learning. “Environmental-based learning requires the initiation of activities in the Jember forestry area, including education, research, and community service,” he said. It was also said that FMIPA has collaborated with fostered villages, so that collaboration initiation with forestry partners is needed.

FMIPA through the Mathematics Department with remote sensing can initiate collaboration with the forestry service. “Forestry issues that can be collaborated on with FMIPA, especially mathematics, require sharing sessions to find the right solutions to overcome problems in the Jember forestry area,” continued Prof. Dafik. It is hoped that collaboration will be implemented soon in the form of teaching practices, internships, or other activities that can be collaborated on. The Cooperation Agreement between FMIPA and the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch has a duration of 2 (two) years since the PKS was signed. FMIPA University of Jember Establishes Cooperation with Faculty of Engineering, Bina Nusantara University

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember (FMIPA UNEJ), has established a partnership with the Faculty of Engineering Bina Nusantara (FT BINUS). This partnership was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D with the Dean of FT BINUS, Dr. Ir. Nina Nurdiani, S.T., M.T. (20/2). In his speech, Prof. Dafik said that FMIPA will continue to establish partnerships with several parties, both in the world of education and industry. “We, FMIPA, will do a lot of partnerships, especially in the fields of education and research. Today we are with BINUS, tomorrow with the Jember Regional Forestry Service Branch,” he said. With FT BINUS, FMIPA will collaborate on chemistry, mathematics, and physics in the engineering field.

Dr. Ir. Nina Nurdiani, S.T., M.T. also said the same thing: with FMIPA UNEJ, there will be guest lecture activities, scientific meetings, and postgraduate lectures. “In our research, we can jointly supervise students in the form of sharing research knowledge; we can also share resources and joint publications,” said Nina. It is also stated in the PKS, the two faculties will be together in community service activities in special areas. “Service will be carried out in special areas with the introduction of MIPA and engineering sciences in the form of prototypes, modules, and counseling,” she continued. The Cooperation Agreement between FMIPA UNEJ and the Bina Nusantara Engineering Faculty has a duration of 3 (three) years since the PKS was determined and challenged. Continue reading

Strengthening Collaboration, FPA UiTM Malaysia Delegation Visits FMIPA UNEJ and Meets Vice Rector IV UNEJ

Dean of the Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology (FPA), Universiti Technology MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, Prof. Ts. Dr. Azhan Hashim @ Ismail, and Head of the Center of Studies (Postgraduate), Dr. Zaiton Sapak, visited FMIPA UNEJ to strengthen cooperation (16/11). Also scheduled to meet with the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems at UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Bambang Kuswandi, M.Sc., Ph.D. Several collaborative activities have been carried out by the two institutions, including student exchanges and sharing lecture sessions. “The presence of Prof. Azhan and Dr. Zaiton will enhance the collaboration that we have agreed upon and some of which is currently ongoing,” said Deputy Dean I of FMIPA, Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Prof. Azhan also agrees and hopes that the collaboration will become more widespread, such as the research collaboration between FPA UiTM and FMIPA UNEJ lecturers. “Collaboration must continue; visiting lecturers need to be carried out following our ongoing student exchanges,” he said. Several international seminar agendas can also be a forum for strengthening cooperation between the two institutions. Head of PRTDRAN BRIN Invites FMIPA UNEJ Lecturers to Collaborate on Nuclear Energy Research

Head of Pusat Riset Teknologi Deteksi Radiasi dan Analisis Nuklir (PRTDRAN) BRIN, Dr. Abu Khalid Rivai, M.Eng. give a guest lecture at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (19/10). Abu Khalid invited lecturers to collaborate on research through BRIN as a bridge. “In BRIN there is ORTN, namely Organisasi Riset Tenaga Nuklir to optimize research in all regions in Indonesia,” he said.

Abu Khalid explained, ORTN itself is divided into 12 organizations in Indonesia, one example being Radiation Process Technology. Everything was revealed in the Guest Lecture of Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ with the theme Research Prospects and research work at PRTDRAN and National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).. FMIPA UNEJ in collaboration with FPA Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember held talks to establish cooperation with The Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology (FPA), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia (7/4). Initial communication with online meetings. FMIPA is led directly by Dean of UNEJ Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. accompanied by Deputy Dean I for Academic Affairs Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Deputy Dean II for General Affairs and Finance Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Meanwhile, FPA UiTM presents the Dean, Prof. Dr. Azhan Hashim, Dr Fazleen Abdul Fatah as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Program Coordinator Dr Zaiton Sapak. On this occasion, discussions began with the student exchange program which included class meetings, internships, research, and lecturer assistance.
