Inauguration and Farewell of the Dharma Wanita Management of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Association, University of Jember

The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., officially inaugurated the new board of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) FMIPA UNEJ on December 19th. Based on the Dean’s decree, this board will serve from 2024 to 2025. “I officially appoint the DWP FMIPA UNEJ board. I hope you carry out your duties well,” said the Dean. Prof. Dafik, accompanied by the Chairperson of DWP FMIPA, Lis Setyaningsih Dafik, thanked and honored Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah, the previous DWP chairperson. “Thank you for your dedication in leading DWP and supporting Mr. Achmad Sjaifullah during his service as a lecturer and leader at FMIPA UNEJ,” he added.

“After being inaugurated, I hope we can continue and develop the programs that have been running,” said Lis Setyaningsih Dafik. During the meeting, the board discussed several planned programs, including those in the fields of education, economics, and social culture. “We will continue and develop the work plans for each area to achieve our main goals,” she added. On this occasion, the Chairperson of DWP FMIPA also gave souvenirs to Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah and Mrs. Misto, whose husbands retired from FMIPA UNEJ this month. Continue reading

DWP FMIPA UNEJ Educational Tour: Visit the Largest Aglaonema Nursery in Jember

On an educational tour, the management of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at University of Jember visited the largest aglaonema nursery in Jember (17/1). Led by the Chairperson of DWP FMIPA, Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Sjaifullah, DWP FMIPA administrators had the opportunity to see and hear directly an explanation of the process of seeding, planting, and caring for aglaonema. The garden is located in the Jl. Letjen. S. Parman Gang II/129. Jember is able to breed more than 250 varieties of aglaonema, making it the largest in Jember and one of the largest in the East Java region.

“Even though the breeding process is quite difficult, here we have studied media that are suitable for aglaonema plants,” said Prof. Agus Subekti, owner and developer of the garden, who is also a professor in the Department of Physics at FMIPA UNEJ. It is also said that there is a need for special spraying techniques to care for aglaonema. Prof. Agus also offered the DWP FMIPA UNEJ administrators the opportunity to learn to care for and reproduce, including if there is a desire to become an entrepreneur in breeding and developing aglaonema. DWP FMIPA UNEJ visits Purnama Jati Production House, Sees Cassava and Edamame Tape Processing

The management of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University, led directly by the Chairperson of the DWP FMIPA, Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Sjaifullah, visited the Purnama Jati production house in the Jalan Bungur Gebang Jember area (5/1). “Through the education work program, DWP FMIPA UNEJ wants to improve the skills of its members; one way is by visiting Purnama Jati,” he said. It was further stated that DWP FMIPA members could see firsthand the process of making processed cassava and edamame tape and also learn how to start and manage a business.

Purnama Jati started his business in 2000, starting as a small household business by opening a window in front of the house. “We started the business at a young age using a display case at home; we started several cakes from processed cassava and edamame,” began the story of Mrs. Firdaus, who gave up her civil servant status to dare to become an entrepreneur. He also said that when the pandemic hit, turnover decreased, and he put his mind to work to keep the business running smoothly. And that solution comes through cookies delivered online. Welcoming Mother’s Day, Members of DWP FMIPA UNEJ Appeared Elegantly in Dresses at Routine Meetings

Dressed in kebaya, all members of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty of Jember University celebrated Mother’s Day at their regular meeting (15/12). “I would like to express my gratitude for the presence of the ladies who were beautiful and elegant in kebaya at the routine meeting of DWP FMIPA members,” said Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Sjaifullah, Chair of the DWP FMIPA UNEJ Sub Unit. It was also conveyed that this regular meeting of members was the last time the management was chaired by Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Sjaifullah. There were members present, consisting of lecturers, education staff, wives of the FMIPA UNEJ academic community, and also retired employees.

The regular meeting held in the Physics Department Auditorium also presented two speakers who were also members of the DWP FMIPA UNEJ. The first is Dr. Ika Hesti Agustin, S.Si., M.Si., a mathematics lecturer who gives make-up tutorials, and Dra. Priwahyu Hartanti, M.Pd., conveys information about mammography. No less interesting at this regular meeting will be the members with the best kebaya chosen by the jury and the most favorite chosen by the meeting participants. “Like previous meetings, we will provide compassion in accordance with the DWP FMIPA UNEJ program,” concluded Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah. Transgenerational Educational Tourism, Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University, held an intergenerational educational tour to several destinations on October 15, 2023. “Religion is there, tourism is there, and the most important thing is friendship between generations of DWP FMIPA UNEJ administrators and members,” said Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah, Chair of DWP FMIPA UNEJ. Several destinations are in Malang Regency and Batu City, including the Turen Mosque, Leswan Leather, which is a leather bag and wallet factory, Santerra de Laponte, and Lumbung Strawberry. “And of course, don’t forget to mention that there is a souvenir center to make your family happy at home,” she continued.

This event could be said to be special because several former DWP administrators and members took part in the educational tour. Mrs. Sumadi (wife of the first Dean of FMIPA UNEJ) and Mrs. Sudarmadji were seen together to maintain friendly relations. “Several female lecturers and educational staff also came along to experience a moment of refreshing between routines on campus,” said Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah. Several DWP FMIPA UNEJ members held this agenda as a place to strengthen ties between the FMIPA extended family and also as a place to learn about businesses that could be included in the DWP FMIPA UNEJ program. DWP FMIPA UNEJ Routinely Distributes Educational Donations to FMIPA UNEJ Students

The Dharma Wanita Persatuan FMIPA again provided educational donations for FMIPA students in need at the regular FMIPA DWP management meeting. (6/10). Located in the meeting room of the FMIPA Gekanat building, Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah, Chair of the FMIPA DWP, symbolically handed over educational donations to the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. “I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to DWP FMIPA, which routinely provides charity through its social programs. I also hope that this donation will be able to lighten the burden on students who need it,” said the Dean.

Donations will be distributed through Vice Dean II FMIPA Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., who attended the occasion. Furthermore, the Dean of FMIPA said that apart from this agenda, there were several DWP FMIPA activities that were social in nature and also supported FMIPA and even UNEJ activities. “For some time, DWP FMIPA has also provided donations to members and actively participates if there is an agenda from the university, such as a choir competition that is regularly held every year,” he said.
