Jurnal ILMU DASAR held a Workshop on Improving SINTA through Improving Article Substance and Writing Style

The Jurnal ILMU DASAR (JID) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Jember University held a workshop with the theme Peningkatan Status SINTA Melalui Peningkatan Substansi Artikel dan Gaya Penulisan at El Royal Banyuwangi (20-21/7). Andista Candra Yusro, S.Pd., M.Pd., Deputy Chair of Indonesian Journal Volunteers, DOAJ Associate Editor, and ARJUNA Assessor, accompanied and dissected JID from management to substance. Chief Editor: JID Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. We hope that the guidance of the presenters can make JID ready to rise to SINTA status and have an international reputation. “We ask for guidance, Mas Yusro, so that JID can rise in the SINTA ranking and achieve Scopus,” she said in front of the JID editor, who was present with the full team.

Before the workshop, Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., lined up to open the event and tell about the beginning of the Jurnal ILMU DASAR until it received SINTA status and was indexed by DOAJ. “At the beginning, JID was still a print edition; then it became an online edition and became the initial journals at UNEJ; now JID has achieved SINTA 3, and DOAJ is the result of the work of a solid team of editors,” he said. The workshop began by showing a portrait of JID’s final condition and preparations for publishing the final issue by JID’s chief editor. “Based on the current conditions, after this, Mas Yusro can help us update the JID, especially the article substance and writing style,” hoped Purwatiningsih. InSTEM Journal FMIPA UNEJ Holds One Day Workshop, Preparation for Achieving SINTA Accreditation

Journal of Science and Technology Innovation for Society (InSTEM) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University held a workshop towards SINTA Accreditation in the Physics Auditorium (17/7). With the theme Strategi Pengelolaan Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat InSTEM Menuju Akreditasi SINTA”  Fahmi Arif Kurnianto, S.Pd., M.Pd., Chief Editor of Geosfera Indonesia, Fahmi now also serves as chairman of the Jember University Journal House. Geosfera Indonesia is a SINTA-2-accredited journal. Present and open the InSTEM journal workshop with Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., as Vice Dean II of FMIPA, who is also Chief Editor of the Jurnal ILMU DASAR, as well as several journal editors within FMIPA UNEJ, such as the CERiMRE, ICL, JEI, and LSB journals.

Fahmi shared several experiences of managing the Geosfera Indonesia journal until he was able to achieve SINTA 2. “In this initial material, I will share the story of managing a journal from pre-review, copyediting to preparing to publish an issue from the OJS side as well as the substance of the article,” he said. The lecturer at the Geography Education Study Program, FKIP, Jember University also provided several ways for the InSTEM journal to achieve SINTA, which is a service journal. This includes improving the quality of journal management to increase value at ARJUNA. “To overcome the novelty that usually occurs in research journals, InSTEM must improve the quality of its journal management so that it can achieve maximum value,” he continued. Towards SINTA 2, CERiMRE Journal Presents Andri Pranolo Chief Editor IJAIN from UAD

The Journal of Computational and Experimental Research in Materials and Renewable Energy (CERiMRE) Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ, held a workshop towards SINTA 2 in the Physics Auditorium (12/7). With the theme “Governance Workshop Towards a SINTA 2 Accredited Journal,”  Andri Pranolo, S.Kom., M.Cs., Ph.D., Chief Editor of the International Journal of Advances in Intelligent Informatics (IJAIN), IJAIN is a journal indexed by Scopus with Q3 from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta. Present and open the CERiMRE journal workshop with Purwatiningsih, Ph.D., as Vice Dean II of FMIPA, who is also Chief Editor of the BASIC ILMU Journal, as well as several journal editors within FMIPA UNEJ.

Andri explained the assessment elements in the ARJUNA application that can be optimized by a journal to increase accreditation. “Let’s dissect the elements of ARJUNA assessment starting from naming the journal, institution, editing, article substance to dissemination in order to increase the journal’s accreditation,” he began. The Informatics Study Program lecturer at UAD explained in detail the points and relationships between elements that can be optimized when applying for journal accreditation. For example, the involvement of bebestari partners from several countries will increase the value of substance and management. “By involving reviewers from several countries, we will increase the value of management which will impact the quality of articles in order to increase the value of the substance,” he continued. Chemistry Department FMIPA UNEJ Will Hold the 6th IC2MS in 2024

The Chemistry Department of FMIPA UNEJ will hold the 2024 International Conference on Chemistry and Material Sciences (IC2MS) in collaboration with Brawijaya University, Malang State University, and Universiti Teknologi Mara. The seminar will be held on September 25–26, 2024, with the theme “Sustainable Chemistry and Material Sciences for a Better Life.” Located in the Soetardjo Building, Jember University presented keynote speakers from abroad and within the country. Prof. Spas D Kolev from Australia, Prof. Ts Dr.-Ing. Oskar Hasdinor Hassan from Malaysia, Prof. Yun-Hi Kim from Korea, Dr. Verawat Champreda from Thailand, Prof. Brian Yuliarto from ITB, and Prof. Bambang Kuswandi as host of Jember University.

There are 10 invited speakers who will attend the 6th IC2MS 2024. Dr.Sc. Lukman Hakim from UB, Prof. Surjani Wonorahardjo from UM, Dr. Nooraini Ahmad and Dr. Umi Marshida Abd. Hamid from Malaysia, Prof. Seung-Ryeong Kwon, Prof. Juyeong Kim, and Yoon Seok Min, Ph.D. from Korea, Eko Setio Wibowo, Ph.D. from BRIN, Dr. Anton Prasetyo from UIN MMI Malang and Prof. Anak Agung Istri Ratnadewi as representative of the Chemistry Department, FMIPA UNEJ. FMIPA UNEJ Internal Workshop Presents Prof. Amin Setyo Laksono from Brawijaya University

In an effort to ensure the quality of education at the Program Studi (PS) and Unit Pengelola Program Studi (UPPS) levels, FMIPA UNEJ held an internal workshop at FMIPA UNEJ in the Ecology R. Biology Department, FMIPA (3/5). Present as a resource person was Prof. Amin Setyo Laksono, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., from Brawijaya University Malang. Taking the theme “Kiat Praktis Menjamin Keunggulan dan Rekognisi PS dalam Penyelenggaraan Tri Dharma PT di Level Internasional”  the workshop was attended by the Head of Department, Secretary of Department, Study Program Coordinator, and 5 representative lecturers for each study program at FMIPA UNEJ. Prof. Amin was accompanied by Deputy Dean of FMIPA, Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D., as the event moderator.

In his presentation, Prof. Amin explained the legal basis that is used as a reference for accreditation and why there is now conditional accreditation status. “Now, there is a conditional status to provide evaluation results that do not harm the study program and also to give the study program the opportunity to make improvements,” he initially said. It is also necessary to understand the assessment matrix and also know the weighting of items in order to know the highest points that can be achieved. “You can pay attention to the points and weights in service research as well as our student publications, also in the LKPS section,” said Prof. Amin is also the Head of Biology Masters Study Program, FMIPA, Brawijaya University, Malang. Department of Mathematics: The Joint Research Workshop from DM-ITS Surabaya

The research system and road map of research at the Mathematics Department of ITS Surabaya became the main topic in the Joint Research Workshop organized by the Mathematics Department of FMIPA University of Jember in Multimedia Room on Monday (December 11, 2017). Department of Mathematics ITS (DM-ITS) which represented by Prof. Dr. Moh Isa Irawan, Dr. Dieky Adzkiya and Dr. Choirul Imron presented each Focus Group Discussion according to the field. “Increasing the role of functional analysis in applied mathematics and data assimilation methods on large-scale systems Maxplus & Maxmin algebra is among the research objectives in the DM-ITS Analysis and Algebra Laboratory” Dieky Adzkiya in the subject matter of Research Analysis and Algebra. There are some interesting research in this field such as solar panel position control by using fuzzy method. “And there is also the application of fuzzy for weather prediction in the determination of cropping pattern” he continued.
