Jurnal ILMU DASAR held a Workshop on Improving SINTA through Improving Article Substance and Writing Style

The Jurnal ILMU DASAR (JID) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Jember University held a workshop with the theme Peningkatan Status SINTA Melalui Peningkatan Substansi Artikel dan Gaya Penulisan at El Royal Banyuwangi (20-21/7). Andista Candra Yusro, S.Pd., M.Pd., Deputy Chair of Indonesian Journal Volunteers, DOAJ Associate Editor, and ARJUNA Assessor, accompanied and dissected JID from management to substance. Chief Editor: JID Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. We hope that the guidance of the presenters can make JID ready to rise to SINTA status and have an international reputation. “We ask for guidance, Mas Yusro, so that JID can rise in the SINTA ranking and achieve Scopus,” she said in front of the JID editor, who was present with the full team.

Before the workshop, Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., lined up to open the event and tell about the beginning of the Jurnal ILMU DASAR until it received SINTA status and was indexed by DOAJ. “At the beginning, JID was still a print edition; then it became an online edition and became the initial journals at UNEJ; now JID has achieved SINTA 3, and DOAJ is the result of the work of a solid team of editors,” he said. The workshop began by showing a portrait of JID’s final condition and preparations for publishing the final issue by JID’s chief editor. “Based on the current conditions, after this, Mas Yusro can help us update the JID, especially the article substance and writing style,” hoped Purwatiningsih. InSTEM Journal FMIPA UNEJ Holds One Day Workshop, Preparation for Achieving SINTA Accreditation

Journal of Science and Technology Innovation for Society (InSTEM) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University held a workshop towards SINTA Accreditation in the Physics Auditorium (17/7). With the theme Strategi Pengelolaan Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat InSTEM Menuju Akreditasi SINTA”  Fahmi Arif Kurnianto, S.Pd., M.Pd., Chief Editor of Geosfera Indonesia, Fahmi now also serves as chairman of the Jember University Journal House. Geosfera Indonesia is a SINTA-2-accredited journal. Present and open the InSTEM journal workshop with Purwatiningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., as Vice Dean II of FMIPA, who is also Chief Editor of the Jurnal ILMU DASAR, as well as several journal editors within FMIPA UNEJ, such as the CERiMRE, ICL, JEI, and LSB journals.

Fahmi shared several experiences of managing the Geosfera Indonesia journal until he was able to achieve SINTA 2. “In this initial material, I will share the story of managing a journal from pre-review, copyediting to preparing to publish an issue from the OJS side as well as the substance of the article,” he said. The lecturer at the Geography Education Study Program, FKIP, Jember University also provided several ways for the InSTEM journal to achieve SINTA, which is a service journal. This includes improving the quality of journal management to increase value at ARJUNA. “To overcome the novelty that usually occurs in research journals, InSTEM must improve the quality of its journal management so that it can achieve maximum value,” he continued. Towards SINTA 2, CERiMRE Journal Presents Andri Pranolo Chief Editor IJAIN from UAD

The Journal of Computational and Experimental Research in Materials and Renewable Energy (CERiMRE) Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ, held a workshop towards SINTA 2 in the Physics Auditorium (12/7). With the theme “Governance Workshop Towards a SINTA 2 Accredited Journal,”  Andri Pranolo, S.Kom., M.Cs., Ph.D., Chief Editor of the International Journal of Advances in Intelligent Informatics (IJAIN), IJAIN is a journal indexed by Scopus with Q3 from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta. Present and open the CERiMRE journal workshop with Purwatiningsih, Ph.D., as Vice Dean II of FMIPA, who is also Chief Editor of the BASIC ILMU Journal, as well as several journal editors within FMIPA UNEJ.

Andri explained the assessment elements in the ARJUNA application that can be optimized by a journal to increase accreditation. “Let’s dissect the elements of ARJUNA assessment starting from naming the journal, institution, editing, article substance to dissemination in order to increase the journal’s accreditation,” he began. The Informatics Study Program lecturer at UAD explained in detail the points and relationships between elements that can be optimized when applying for journal accreditation. For example, the involvement of bebestari partners from several countries will increase the value of substance and management. “By involving reviewers from several countries, we will increase the value of management which will impact the quality of articles in order to increase the value of the substance,” he continued. Journal of MIMS, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Accredited by SINTA 3

Congratulations and success for the MIMS journal in obtaining SINTA 3 accreditation from the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology which has been waiting for some time,” said Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. Deputy Dean I FMIPA UNEJ as well as Head of the Jember University OJS Team (31/7). MIMS is an old journal that was previously accredited by SINTA 4 and was also able to achieve the DOAJ index in April 2023. “MIMS is an old journal that already has many articles, with the achievement of SINTA 3 and also DOAJ, more and more writers are interested in submitting to MIMS,” continued Siswoyo.

MIMS is an acronym for the Scientific Mathematics and Statistics Magazine managed by the Department of Mathematics, FMIPA University of Jember. It has published a print edition since 2000 and has an online version since 2020. MIMS, led by Dr. Kristiana Wijaya as the Editor-in-chief , has prepared the SINTA re-accreditation process through finalizing the requirements from ARJUNA and first obtaining DOAJ to add assessment points. DOAJ indexed MIMS Journal of Mathematics Department followed by JID, CERiMRE and BST

“Congratulations and success to the management of the MIMS journal for being indexed in DOAJ or Directory Open Access Journal following the JID, CERiMRE and BST journals which were indexed first,” said Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. Vice Dean I FMIPA UNEJ and Head of the Jember University OJS Team (27/4). MIMS, the acronym for the Scientific Mathematics and Statistics Magazine, is a journal published by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember.

MIMS is one of the oldest journals at FMIPA UNEJ. “MIMS has been in print edition since 2000 and will have an electronic version in 2020, hopefully this achievement will add enthusiasm to new journals within FMIPA,” continued Siswoyo. Journal of CERiMRE, Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Accredited by SINTA

“Congratulations and success for the CERiMRE journal in obtaining SINTA 4 accreditation from the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology,” said Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. Deputy Dean I FMIPA UNEJ and Head of the Jember University OJS Team (2/2). CERiMRE, even though it is a young journal, has been able to achieve DOAJ some time ago and finally received SINTA accreditation. “He is relatively young, but he was able to achieve the DOAJ international indexation, and now he has been accredited by SINTA. I hope this will add enthusiasm to other FMIPA journals,” continued Siswoyo.

For your information, CERiMRE is an acronym for Computational And Experimental Research In Materials And Renewable Energy managed by the Physics Department of FMIPA which is driven by the Applied Materials Computational Research Group or KeRis KMT. CERiMRE led by Dr. Artoto Arkundato as the Editor-in-chief, has prepared the SINTA accreditation process through several workshops and finalized the requirements from ARJUNA. Continue reading
