To support the MBKM Bentuk Kegiatan Pembelajaran (BKP) for students, FMIPA University of Jember entered into a Cooperation Agreement with Perusahaan Umum Daerah (PERUMDA) Perkebunan Kahyangan Jember in the Meeting Room of the FMIPA (24/6). “This agreement aims to equalize perceptions in an effort to improve the knowledge, skills and competencies of FMIPA students at the University of Jember in the MBKM BKP at Perkebunan Kahyangan Jember” said the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D.
It was further stated that students could convey ideas in developing innovative products. “Students are given the opportunity to be able to channel ideas to develop potential partners, in this case the Kahyangan Plantation,” he said. On this occasion Sofyan Sauri, S.M. President Director of Perkebunan Kahyangan, Jember, said that collaboration with FMIPA UNEJ will have a good impact on heaven plantations and FMIPA students.
“This mutually beneficial cooperation is intended so that the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka can be realized properly, one of which is the provision of internships and research at our company,” explained Sofyan. The collaboration will cover the field of handling horticultural gardens starting from commodity selection, land handling, irrigation, plant maintenance and post-harvest handling of horticultural products produced in the PERUMDA area of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka.
On this occasion were present the Vice Dean II and III of FMIPA UNEJ, as well as the Heads of Departments in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember.
For information, Perkebunan Kahyangan Jember is a BUMD which was established based on a Penghasilan Asli Daerah at Jalan Gajah Mada No.245, Kaliwates, Jember, this company aims to provide input for sources of Regional Original Income, create jobs and of course preserve natural resources.
This agreement is the second in 2022, after previously collaborating with Penghasilan Asli Daerah and also in 2020 and 2021 FMIPA UNEJ has collaborated with several state universities, government agencies, banking institutions as well as the private sector. This is done as a means of giving students choices in implementing the form of learning activities for the MBKM program.
With this collaboration, the Dean of FMIPA hopes that tPerkebunan Kahyangan Jember will continue to establish contact if there is an activity that requires assistance from students and our staff. “In the collaboration text, it has been stated that Dr. Edy Supriyanto who is also the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences for Student Affairs as a contact person, this will make it easier to communicate between us and our stakeholders,” explained Dean of FMIPA UNEJ. The Cooperation Agreement lasts for 2 years since the signing of the cooperation document.
