Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period I, Academic Year 2026/2027

FMIPA UNEJ held the 120th Undergraduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period I, Academic Year 2026/2027 (17/7). Held at the Auditorium of the Physics Department, FMIPA, University of Jember. In the graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., conveyed congratulations and success for passing and graduating to the FMIPA judiciary. The Dean invited the judiciary to prepare themselves to face challenges after graduation by learning to convert lecture results into skills. “Become problem solvers in the form of skills, especially transferable skills, so you can enter all lines of work,” he began. After graduation, alumni are also expected to no longer depend on their parents.

Prof. Dafik said that FMIPA UNEJ alumni have the advantage of being able to enter all lines of work. “The broad scope of MIPA science is an asset for alumni, such as in the current era, they can enter programs launched by the Indonesian government,” he continued. Prof. Dafik advised the judiciary to continue upgrading their skills to seize golden opportunities in today’s digital era which requires more skills and always follow technological advances. The Dean of FMIPA led an open meeting of the Faculty of MIPA senate accompanied by the Vice Deans I and II of FMIPA. Present were all members of the FMIPA Senate, as well as invitees from representatives of FMIPA UNEJ’s teaching and administrative staff.

Next, the reading of the decree of the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ regarding the 120th Undergraduate Program (S1) Graduation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period I, Academic Year 2026/2027 by the Deputy Dean I of FMIPA Prof. Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D. Followed by congratulations from the Deans, Deputy Deans and Heads of Departments to all graduates. In this period’s graduation, the highest GPA graduate of the Undergraduate Program was achieved by Nur Bayyinah from the Physics Undergraduate Study Program with a GPA of 3.95 with a study period of 3 years 6 months and 1 day. The fastest graduate was Dwiki Haykhal Satriawan from the Biology Undergraduate Study Program with a GPA of 3.92 and a study period of 3 years, 4 months, 10 days.

The motivational speech at the graduation ceremony was delivered by Aurania Putri Pratama, S.Si., a Biology Undergraduate Program alumna from the class of 2020. Aurania said that FMIPA UNEJ alumni should not be too euphoric after graduation. “It’s time to make a five-year plan for what to do next, continue studying or work,” she said. The Research Assistant at the Medical Biodefense Research Center (MBRC) of the Faculty of Military Medicine, Universitas Pertahanan, encouraged FMIPA UNEJ alumni to start designing a plan by compiling a portfolio of skills.

Aurania said that a portfolio reflects our abilities and skills. “Pour your abilities and skills into a portfolio that you can upload to LinkedIn. Many companies are now looking for staff based on that,” she continued. In closing, the 2026 LPDP recipient and currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biology at the University of Indonesia encouraged the graduates to be confident, build their personal branding, and never be afraid of failure. After the graduation ceremony, a group photo was taken for the study programs within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UNEJ. The graduates will attend the graduation ceremony next week at the University of Jember Auditorium.
