Opening of the Chemistry Master’s Study Program, Complete the Master’s Study Program at the FMIPA, University of Jember

Based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 99/E/O/2024 dated January 11, 2024, FMIPA UNEJ has a Chemistry Masters Study Program. “The Chemistry Master’s Study Program completes the four master’s study programs at FMIPA UNEJ, after Mathematics, Biology, and Physics,” said Deputy Dean I of FMIPA, Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. The opening of the chemistry master’s study program has been prepared for some time to meet the response of FMIPA chemistry undergraduate alumni in particular and the community in general.

“FMIPA chemistry alumni, especially those who want to study further, can now take part in the chemistry master’s study program; people around Jember or East Java can also join us,” he said. It was stated that new student registration would soon be announced after the official appointment of the head of the chemistry master’s study program by the Chancellor of the University of Jember. “The Master of Chemistry will prepare everything for accepting new students, including the selection mechanism,” continued Siswoyo, who is also a lecturer in the Chemistry Department at FMIPA. FMIPA UNEJ Biology Master’s Study Program achieved the UNGGUL Accreditation Predicate from LAMSAMA

FMIPA UNEJ Biology Master’s Study Program achieved UNGGUL accreditation. It is stated in the decision of the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 140/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/M/XII/2023 dated December 28, 2023. This achievement of UNGGUL accreditation is very encouraging for the Biology Masters Study Program and also for the entire FMIPA academic community. “All of us FMIPA UNEJ residents are very grateful for this achievement; hard work produced the best results at the end of 2023,” said the Dean of FMIPA, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. The Dean also added that by the end of this year, there had been three study programs at FMIPA that had succeeded in achieving UNGGUL accreditation from LAMSAMA.

The success of the FMIPA Biology Masters Study Program is an effort made by all parties. The Biology Masters Study Program, through its accreditation team, prepares forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni, and stakeholders working together to achieve the title of Superior Accreditation. Jember University’s leadership also plays a role in the LAMSAMA accreditation process. During the field assessment, Vice Chancellor I of UNEJ, Prof. Drs. LAMSAMA Accreditation Field Assessment, Biology Masters Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University

The Independent Accreditation Institute for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) team held a field assessment of the accreditation of the UNEJ FMIPA Biology Masters Study Program. Deputy Chancellor I University of Jember Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D., together with the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achamd Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., accompany the assessor team at the opening of the field assessment (18/12). The assessor team consists of Prof. Dr. Bambang Heru Budianto, M.S., from Jenderal Soedirman University Purwokerto, and Prof. Dr. Sri Puji Wahyuningsih, M.Si., from Airlangga University Surabaya..

Vice Chancellor I UNEJ Prof. Slamin delivered a presentation regarding the profile of Jember University. In his presentation, the vision and mission, number of faculties and postgraduates, study programs, teaching staff, education, and students active at UNEJ, UNEJ’s achievements, and the direction of UNEJ’s development from 2004 to 2028 were presented. “In recent years, the accreditation of study programs with superior achievements at UNEJ has increased, in line with several achievements at the national level,” he explained. Preparing to Achieve Unggul Accreditation from LAMSAMA, FST UNDANA Chemistry Study Program Comparative Study to FMIPA UNEJ Chemistry Study Program

The Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University received a comparative study visit from the Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Nusa Cendana University, Kupang (26/10). The aim of the visit was to obtain information on the LAMSAMA Study Program accreditation. “We came to learn how to achieve superior accreditation because currently our study program is in the process of preparing to apply for re-accreditation in June 2024,” said Prof. Dr. Febri Odel Nitbai, S.Si., M.Si., as Coordinator of the UNDANA FST Chemistry Study Program. Prof. Febri hopes that the FMIPA Chemistry Study Program can transmit and provide the information needed to become a Superior Accredited Study Program.

The team from UNDANA was received by the Dean of FMIPA at UNEJ, Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., who is also a lecturer in the Chemistry Study Program. Accompanied by Deputy Dean I FMIPA Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of Chemistry Study Program, Prof. Dr. Anak Agung Istri Ratnadewi, S.Si., M.Si., warmly welcomed the arrival of the team to share accreditation information with each other. “Welcome! We present the complete formation of the FMIPA Chemistry Accreditation Team, which has successfully achieved superior accreditation. Visitation of ASIIN International Accreditation for Undergraduate Biology Study Program FMIPA UNEJ

Department of Biologi, FMIPA and Master degree of Biotechnology University of Jember carried out ASIIN’s international accreditation visitation (15-16/12). The Akcreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik or ASIIN team held a meeting with the heads of institutions at UNEJ on the first day. The ASIIN Peer Group consists of Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Meinhardt, University of Muenster, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Nellen, Kassel University, Yayang Vionita, PT Cinquer Agro Nusantara, Fatima Qonita Nazihah, State University of Surabaya.

They are with ASIIN Office Dr. Iring Wasser heard presentations on university development, institution profiles, teaching studies. Jember University leadership also gave presentations on collaboration with stakeholders, perspective on resource development, institutional facilities, communication and coordination, study organization and management, teaching to students and quality management at the university level. Chemistry Study Program and Physics Study Program FMIPA received the Predicate of UNGGUL Accreditation from LAMSAMA

Two Undergraduate Study Programs at FMIPA are Chemistry and Physics received UNGGUL accreditation. This is based on the decision of Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 008/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/XII/2022 for Chemistry Study Program. And LAMSAMA decision Number 015/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/XII/2022 for the Physics Study Program (15/12). The achievement of superior accreditation is very proud for both study programs and also for all FMIPA members. “All of us FMIPA UNEJ, especially the two study programs, are very grateful for this achievement, hard work produces the best results at the end of the year,” said the Dean.

The success of the Chemistry and Physics undergraduate study program at FMIPA was an effort made by all parties. Each study program through its accreditation team prepares forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni and stakeholders working hand in hand to achieve the title of Excellent accreditation. Jember University leadership also plays a role in the LAMSAMA accreditation process.
