Farewell Ceremony for Lecturers and Educational Staff of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

As a token of respect for their service and dedication, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the farewell ceremony for the Faculty’s Lecturers and Education Staff (12/11) took place in the Physics Department Auditorium. The ceremony was attended by the Dean of FMIPA, the leadership, and invited guests, along with the 2025 FMIPA retirees. The four FMIPA retirees were Prof. Ir. Bambang Sugiharto, M.Agr.Sc., D.Agr.Sc., drh. Wuryanti Handayani, M.Sc., Drs. Rudju Winarsa, M.Kes., and Dulkolim, A.md. In his remarks, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the farewell was a special occasion. “It is truly special to see off our fellow lecturers and education staff as they enter retirement. They have provided service, contributed, and have become role models for us,” he said.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) described them as role models, having fulfilled their duty to develop the nation’s next generation through their dedication during their service at FMIPA UNEJ. “These retirees can also be considered passive income for the institution, having instilled and imparted knowledge to future generations, and that will be a continuous charity,” he continued. Prof. Dafik also quoted one of the Prophet’s sayings: “The best people are those who live long and whose life benefits many.” In his closing remarks, the Dean expressed his gratitude to the institution and the retirees who have dedicated their knowledge, energy, and time to FMIPA UNEJ. FMIPA Lecturers and Staff, Along with 1,195 UNEJ Civil Servants, Officially Take the Oath of PNS and PPPK Appointments

Twenty-nine lecturers and administrative staff from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Jember attended the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony at the University of Jember Auditorium on October 30th. They, along with 1,195 ASN from Jember, solemnly participated in the inauguration ceremony. The ceremony comprised 287 Civil Servant Lecturers, 129 PPPK Lecturers, 49 Education Personnel, 25 PPPK Lecturers for the 2025 recruitment period, 704 Education Personnel for the 2025 recruitment period, and one Archivist. The Rector of the University of Jember, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng., officially administered the oath to the ASN, accompanied by the Chair of the UNEJ Senate, Vice Rectors, Deans, and other University leaders.

In his address, the UNEJ Rector stated that the oath/pledge is not merely a change in employee status, but also an increase in professional moral responsibility in serving UNEJ. “Especially for PPPK, it’s important to note that in the written contract for the next five years, performance will be assessed, which will determine their future. It’s fitting that PPPK and ASN will also receive remuneration,” he said. The UNEJ Rector advised them to continue improving their performance after their employment contracts become PPPK. Performance is key, influencing the amount of remuneration and determining the contract extension of PPPK. Continue reading

Sad News of the Passing of Agung Budi Santoso, S.Si., M.Si Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UNEJ

Has passed away to Rahmatullah Agung Budi Santoso, S.Si., M.Sc. Lecturer in the Chemistry Department, FMIPA, Jember University on Saturday, November 11 2023. The deceased joined as a lecturer in the Chemistry Department, FMIPA since March 1998. An alumnus of Brawijaya University (S1) in 1997 and the Bandung Institute of Technology (S2) in 2003, he taught the field of Biochemistry during his service as a lecturer. The deceased left two sons.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, especially the Department of Chemistry, expresses its deepest condolences for the death of Agung Budi Santoso, S.Si., M.Si., who dedicated his knowledge, energy, and thoughts to the alma mater. In the eyes of his colleagues, the deceased was a creative, humorous figure who was able to lighten the mood. Pak Agung is also known to often provide motivation for chemistry students. During his time as a lecturer in chemistry, he often won the title of favorite lecturer. The deceased was buried in the city where he was born and raised, Malang, on Sunday morning at 09.00 WIB. Sad News Dian Anggraeni, S.Si., M.Si., Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, FMIPA UNEJ

Has passed away to Rahmatullah Dian Anggraeni, S.Si., M.Si. Lecturer in the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember on Saturday, August 12 2023. The deceased joined Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences since 2006. An alumnus of the University of Brawijaya (S1) and the Ten November Institute of Technology (S2) taught statistics while serving as a lecturer. The deceased left a husband and two sons.

“On behalf of the FMIPA University of Jember, we express our deepest condolences for passed away of our colleague Ms. Dian Anggraeni. We hope that the deceased will receive the best blessings from Allah and the family will be given fortitude,” said Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. Deputy Dean I FMIPA at the release of the body. FMIPA UNEJ encourages the Acceleration of Lecturer Promotions

The leadership of FMIPA UNEJ through Vice Dean II held an information update meeting and a progress report on the accelerated promotion of batch 1 lecturers online (6/1). “This meeting is the fifth time at the beginning of the year, the rank for lecturers is important for the institution even though it is also the lecturer’s personal domain,” the Dean of FMIPA started in his speech. The meeting was attended by all lecturers in FMIPA. Furthermore, the Dean invited all lecturers who were ready to immediately identify their needs in submitting promotions.

“For lecturers who have the potential to be promoted, there will be a special agenda for assistance by the FMIPA staffing team so they can immediately be promoted this month,” he continued. Recently, FMIPA has concentrated on accelerating the promotion of lecturers. Starting from the socialization process to accelerating the completeness of supporting documents. “Before starting the even semester lectures and the completed BKD, it is hoped that the lecturers can concentrate on taking care of their promotion,” he concluded.
