FMIPA UNEJ Partners with PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Glenmore to Offer Research, Internships, and Agro-Industry Innovation Opportunities

FMIPA UNEJ and PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Glenmore discussed a collaboration as a concrete step to strengthen synergy between higher education and industry (9/6). This collaboration is expected to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education while making a tangible contribution to the development of the science and technology-based agro-industry sector. FMIPA UNEJ remains committed to expanding its partnership network with various strategic sectors. This collaboration is part of an effort to provide learning that is relevant to the needs of the workplace and industrial developments.

Vice Dean I of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D., representing the Dean, stated that partnerships with industry are a crucial step in building an adaptive, innovative, and impactful educational ecosystem. “This collaboration opens up wider opportunities for lecturers and students to contribute directly to solving various challenges in the industrial sector, resulting in applied research, technological innovation, and human resource development,” she said. The Vice Dean I, accompanied by the FMIPA Collaboration Team, was welcomed by Anton Septyono, Finance Manager, and Sherly Tri P., HR Manager of PT. Nusantara Sugar Synergy with Glenmore Sugar Factory.

During the discussion, the FMIPA UNEJ and Glenmore Sugar Factory committed to developing various collaborative programs, including scientific research and publications, community service, student internships, final project research, human resource competency development through further study, and innovation development that supports increased productivity and efficiency within Glenmore Sugar Factory. “This partnership provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on learning experience in the industrial world. Through internships and field research, students can apply their knowledge and understand the challenges and needs of modern industry in a real-world setting,” continued Prof. Hari.

Glenmore Sugar Factory welcomed this collaboration as an effort to strengthen innovation and develop superior and competitive human resources. “The synergy between academics and industry practitioners is expected to produce science-based solutions that support the advancement of the national sugar industry,” said Anton Septyono. The discussion also touched on issues related to sugarcane management at Glenmore Sugar Factory, and fortunately, Prof. Hari provided the best solution. Through the synergy between universities and industry, both institutions are committed to supporting the development of science, technology, innovation, and improving the quality of human resources capable of meeting the challenges of future national development.
