“Ramadan is over, may we receive forgiveness after worshiping for a whole month and can be reunited with Ramadhan next year,” began the sermon of the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. in the Halal bi Halal event of the FMIPA UNEJ Family (22/4). In his sermon, the Dean touched on how to maintain fitrah after Eid al-Fitr. “There are three ways to maintain fitrah after we carry out Eid al-Fitr which means returning to purity after carrying out worship in the month of Ramadan,” he said.
Prof. Dafik said that one way to maintain fitrah is to be patient. A whole month is trained to be patient, and after Ramadan it’s time to apply it in everyday life. “With qonaah or patience, we will be able to continue to maintain fitrah in going through the journey of life,” he continued. The next is sincerity, this will fortify yourself when you get a trial. In life, problems arise both from yourself, the environment and the state. With sincerity which is the nature of every human being, all tests and trials can be passed easily of course by holding fast to faith in Allah.
“The third is honesty, our nature is to be honest, to tell the truth according to the existing reality,” said Prof. Dafik. In today’s era, honesty is a rare thing, and as Muslims we must be able to maintain honesty as a foundation for life. An example is the story of the prophet Adam AS when he had to leave heaven because he was tempted by the forbidden fruit. The whispers can come from yourself, Satan or from other people. The Dean of FMIPA also said to always be grateful for the blessings from Allah because by being grateful we will not be tempted by something that leads to dishonesty.
At the end of the sermon, the Dean reminded humans to be born into the earth with a natural form. “Hopefully with the efforts we make, we can lead us to become natural humans by always maintaining faith and piety to Allah SWT,” he concluded. Halal bi halal was held at the Baitul Ilmi mosque and attended by academicians and retirees of FMIPA UNEJ. The proud mosque of FMIPA has just undergone several renovations to provide comfort for worship. The end of the event was closed by shaking hands with all the guests accompanied by Islamic music from UKM IONS FMIPA UNEJ.
