Prof. Tamio Oguchi from Osaka University, Japan Visits FMIPA Physics Ready to Establish Collaboration

Prof. Tamio Oguchi visited the Physics Department, FMIPA, University of Jember to carry out research collaboration with Dr. Artoto Arkundato through the Applied Materials and Energy Computing Research Group (18/9). Prof. Tamio Oguchi from the Center for Spintronics Research Network (CSRN) OSAKA University Japan at the start of the visit met with the leadership of FMIPA UNEJ to discuss collaboration while enjoying authentic coffee from Japan. “It is an honor for us to have a visit from Prof. Tamio Oguchi from Japan so that in the future we can explore collaboration with FMIPA,” said the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Next, Prof. Oguchi met the head of the Physics Department headed by Dr Agus Suprianto together with physics lecturers led by Dra. Arry Yuariatun Nurhayati, M.Si. discussing CSRN at Osaka University. For your information, Prof. Tamio Oguchi has come several times to the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Physics Department on a guest lecture agenda in 2018 and was the keynote speaker at the 2021 International Conference on Physical Instrumentation and Advanced Materials (ICPIAM). “Prof. Ogochi has become more familiar with us because he has come several times, it’s time for us “discuss more massively about CSRN, so that it can have a good impact on all of us,” said Dr. Artoto Arkundato. FMIPA UNEJ Physics Department holds the 4th SENAFIS again in 2023 after the Pandemic.

The Department of Physics, FMIPA, University of Jember is again holding the 4th National Physics Seminar (SENAFIS) in 2023 (7/9). Taking the theme Menjawab Tantangan Era Society 5.0 Pasca Pandemi Covid 19 we will present the keynote speakers, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rashid Bin Mohamed Sharif, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Prof. Agus Subekti, Ph.D., University of Jember, and Dede DJuhana, Ph.D., University of Indonesia. Also invited were speakers Dr. Erma Yulihastin from BRIN, Ir. Misto, M.Si., and Dr. Yuda Cahyoargo Hariadi, M.Sc., Ph.D., second, from the Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ. SENAFIS 4 2023 was held offline in the Physics Auditorium and online via Zoom meeting.

The event was officially opened by Vice Chancellor I of the University of Jember, Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D. “Physics is the foundation, and there are famous scientists from the field of physics, so this event is very appropriate to be held as a place to share information from speakers until the parallel session later,” he said. Prof. Slamin also quoted a conversation between Albert Einstein and Charlie Chaplin. “What I admire most about your art is its universality. You don’t say a word, but the whole world understands you,” Einstein told Chaplin. Chaplin replied to this remark: “That’s right. But your glory is even greater! Chemistry Study Program and Physics Study Program FMIPA received the Predicate of UNGGUL Accreditation from LAMSAMA

Two Undergraduate Study Programs at FMIPA are Chemistry and Physics received UNGGUL accreditation. This is based on the decision of Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 008/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/XII/2022 for Chemistry Study Program. And LAMSAMA decision Number 015/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/XII/2022 for the Physics Study Program (15/12). The achievement of superior accreditation is very proud for both study programs and also for all FMIPA members. “All of us FMIPA UNEJ, especially the two study programs, are very grateful for this achievement, hard work produces the best results at the end of the year,” said the Dean.

The success of the Chemistry and Physics undergraduate study program at FMIPA was an effort made by all parties. Each study program through its accreditation team prepares forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni and stakeholders working hand in hand to achieve the title of Excellent accreditation. Jember University leadership also plays a role in the LAMSAMA accreditation process. This was seen during the field assessment of the two study programs, the Rector and Vice Rector I UNEJ were present to accompany the visitation process. Continue reading

Faculty of Engineering UPN Veteran Jawa Timur Comparative Study to Faculty of MIPA UNEJ

Faculty of Engineering UPN Veteran Jawa Timur conducted a comparative study and assessment of collaboration with FMIPA UNEJ (24/11). The delegation was led by Dr. Minto Waluyo, M.M. Vice Dean III accompanied by Head of Physics Study Program, FT UPN. “Our presence is for comparative studies and exploring cooperation in improving lecturer performance in order to achieve IKU,” said Minto. Furthermore, a more specific visit was made to the Physics Study Program FMIPA. “FT UPN Veteran has just opened a Physics study program, so we need a lot of discussions with FMIPA Physics,” he continued.

To note, the Physics study program at Faculty of Engineering UPN Veteran just opened in the 2022/2023 academic year. So that it is necessary to establish cooperation with the Physics Study Program FMIPA which will be contained in the agreement material. FMIPA UNEJ as the host was represented by Vice Dean I Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Vice Dean III Dr. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si. who is also a lecturer in the Physics Study Program, FMIPA. Continue reading

After Chemistry Study Program, LAMSAMA Assessor Team Field Assessment in Physics Study Program FMIPA

After last Monday Chemistry Study Program carried out LAMSAMA field assessment, today the Assessor Team came to Physics Study Program FMIPA (17/11). The Chancellor of University of Jember, Iwan Taruna, again opened the field assessment program. “Yesterday Chemistry Study Program, now the Physics Study Program is being assessed, as the Chancellor of UNEJ was present to provide support for the study programs at UNEJ which are being accredited,” said Iwan Taruna. Furthermore, Iwan said that UNEJ encourages the accreditation of each study program because it will improve the quality of study programs through evaluation and assessment.

The Chancellor also said that UNEJ has 15 faculties, 1 graduate with 108 study programs and a vocational program is needed to support non-academic learning. “In the future UNEJ will open a vocational program in Jubung to produce skilled graduates and experts in their fields,” said Iwan Taruna. At the end of his remarks, the Chancellor hoped that the Physics study program would get the desired accreditation. “Congratulations on exploring to the assessors and Physics team, hoping to get the best results,” he concluded. Head of PRTDRAN BRIN Invites FMIPA UNEJ Lecturers to Collaborate on Nuclear Energy Research

Head of Pusat Riset Teknologi Deteksi Radiasi dan Analisis Nuklir (PRTDRAN) BRIN, Dr. Abu Khalid Rivai, M.Eng. give a guest lecture at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (19/10). Abu Khalid invited lecturers to collaborate on research through BRIN as a bridge. “In BRIN there is ORTN, namely Organisasi Riset Tenaga Nuklir to optimize research in all regions in Indonesia,” he said.

Abu Khalid explained, ORTN itself is divided into 12 organizations in Indonesia, one example being Radiation Process Technology. Everything was revealed in the Guest Lecture of Physics Department, FMIPA UNEJ with the theme Research Prospects and research work at PRTDRAN and National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)..
