Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of the FMIPA UNEJ, officially opened the faculty’s 28th-anniversary celebrations in the FMIPA parking area on October 2nd. The event kicked off with the “SPORA CUP 2026 AURORA” tournament. In his opening remarks, the Dean emphasized the importance of upholding sportsmanship during the competition. “Winning and losing are part of any match, but sportsmanship fostering mutual respect is paramount,” he advised. He noted that since there are always more losers than winners, acknowledging and respecting one another is essential in competition. It was also stated that the SPORA CUP serves not only to launch the FMIPA anniversary festivities but also to welcome the University of Jember’s 62nd anniversary in 2026. Continue reading

Department of Biology FMIPA UNEJ held The Fourth International Confrerence on Life Sciences and Biotechnology (ICOLIB) 2021
Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember held The 4th International Conference on Life Sciences and Biotechnology (ICOLIB) 2021 online (15-16/11). ICOLIB is an international seminar which is held every two years. The first ICOLIB was held in 2015, followed by second in 2017, and the third in 2019. In 2021, The 4th ICOLIB has the theme “Towards Sustainable Development: Application of Biosciences to Improve Welfare and Quality of Life“. The Topics of 4th ICOLIB 2021 are Applied Sciences: Agriculture, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Basic Sciences: Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biodiversity & Bio-coverservation, Health & Medicine: Pharmacy & Medical Sciences. The 4th ICOLIB 2021 presents 6 Keynote Speakers are Jorge A. Santiago, Ph.D. from the National Museum of Natural History, Washington, District of Columbia, USA, Prof. Dr. Ir. Antonius Suwanto, M.Sc. from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia, Prof. Elvira Horandl from the University of Goettingen, Germany, Prof. Simon C Griffith from the Department of Biological Sciences Macquarie University, Sydney, NSW 2109, Australia, Prof. A.G.G. Groothuis and Dr. rer. nat. Christina Bauch from Department of Behavioural Biology, University of Groningen, Netherlands and Dr. Kahar Muzakhar, S.Si. Department of Biology, University of Jember. Dr. Asmoro Lelono, M.Si as chairman of The 4th ICOLIB 2021 said that more than 100 researchers sent their articles to follow this agenda. “Incoming articles will be reviewed by experts in their fields to be published in Atlantis Press – part of Springer Nature,” he explained. Mathematics National Seminar 2014 held on November 19, 2014. There are three speakers who will deliver major papers at the plenary session on the 3rd floor of the Rectorat Building University of Jember, as Keynote Speaker Dr. Ir. Tjuk Eko Hari Basuki, MST (Kepala Pusat Ketersediaan dan Kerawanan Pangan, Badan Ketahanan Pangan, Kementerian Pertanian RI) which will convey the theme of the seminar “Peran Matematika/Statistika dalam Mengembangkan Pertanian Industrial untuk Mendukung Kedaulatan Pangan Nasional“. Dr. Bagus Sartono, M.Si (Secretary of Department of Statistics Institut Pertanian Bogor) as Invited Speaker convey the theme “Aplikasi Mixed Integer Linier Programming” and last Prof. Drs. Kusno, DEA, Ph.D (The Dean of FMIPA University of Jember) as Plenary Speaker delivering research developments in the field of Geometri Rancang Bangun.
