20 UNEJ Students take part in the 2024 ONMIPA-PT Regional Level Selection at FMIPA University of Jember

Located in Mathematics Laboratory 1 and 2, Department of Mathematics, FMIPA UNEJ, regional-level selection was held for the Olimpiade Nasional Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (ONMIPA-PT) 2024 (24–25/4). “20 of our students from FMIPA, FKIP, and FK are fighting to get a place to compete at the national level at Hasanuddin University in May 2024,” said Dr. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si. PIC ONMIPA-PT UNEJ, and Vice Dean III FMIPA UNEJ. UNEJ delegates took part in online selection according to the fields being contested, namely mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry. “For readiness, system testing and tryouts were previously carried out on April 18-19,” he continued.

According to Abduh Riski, S.Si., M.Si, as the supervisor of the ONMIPA-PT UNEJ delegation, the participants who took part in the regional-level selection were the results of the selection on March 8. “These twenty participants are the result of university-level selection carried out previously at the UNEJ entrepreneurship building and then took part in intensive coaching on March 25–31,” he explained. It was also announced that five students per field would take part in the selection for two days online. Halal bi Halal Eid al-Fitr 1445 H Big Family of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

“Ramadan has passed; hopefully we will be forgiven, all sins will be erased, and we can be reunited with Ramadhan next year,” began the lecture of the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., in the Halal bi Halal event for the Big Family of FMIPA UNEJ (23/4). In his lecture, the dean touched on faith and sincerity when welcoming and carrying out worship in the month of Ramadan. “To get maghfiroh, you need faith accompanied by sincerity, because fasting is a direct matter with Allah SWT, so sincerity is the main capital, not for something and for something in carrying it out,” he continued.

It is also said that sincerity is more difficult than istiqomah because sincerity glorifies the name of Allah SWT. “So even though we are ignored by people, we are still willing to do something for the sake of Allah; that is a very noble act,” said the dean in front of FMIPA residents and also the retired staff present. Until researchers from America raised sincerity in a study entitled Six Pillars of Character, which includes several characters, including trustworthiness, which includes sincerity, which means sincerity. Preventing Stunting in Indonesia, Chemistry Researchers FMIPA UNEJ Develop Hydrolyzed Fish Organic Fertilizer

Participating in government programs in an effort to prevent stunting, the research team from the Department of Chemistry at FMIPA UNEJ developed organic fish hydrolyzate fertilizer. Using this fertilizer on rice plants can produce rice that has a high content of important minerals, namely zinc and iron. Rice with a high zinc content is needed to reduce stunting, and high iron content helps reduce anemia and maintain the body’s immune system. This was revealed during an educational event for the farming community in Karangrejo Village, Jember (21/4) that was organized by the FMIPA UNEJ Chemistry Student Association.

At yesterday’s educational meeting, apart from the farmers who were members of the Karangrejo farmer group, there was also PPL Mrs. Yatmi, who had also paid attention to the independent study activities of Chemistry Department students in Kranjingan Village, Jember. This is in line with Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., who said that we never teach farmers to grow crops but accompany farmers to use fish hydrolyzate fertilizer. Mr. Sjai, nicknamed Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., an activist for fish hydrolyzate organic fertilizer, also known as Tirta Sari Mina organic fertilizer, said research had been carried out since 2009. Biology Undergraduate Study Program FMIPA UNEJ has now achieved full ASIIN International Accreditation

After receiving accreditation for a year and having fulfilled several requirements, the Biology Undergraduate Program FMIPA UNEJ has now succeeded in achieving full international accreditation from the Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik, or ASIIN. Several stages of assessment have been carried out since it was submitted in December 2022. The struggle continued until July 2023 to obtain limited recognition for one year, and has now been paid off with full accreditation until September 2028.

ASIIN accreditation of the Biology Undergraduate Program FMIPA UNEJ is in accordance with Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework for Life-long Learning (EQF LLL). Accreditation Letter signed by Dr. Iring Wasser as Managing Director who was present during the ASIIN visit some time ago. Also signed by Prof. Dr. Kathrin Lehmann and Prof. Gert. Ingold as Chairperson of the Accreditation Commission. The accreditation letter dated April 9 2024 will be an encouragement for FMIPA Biology study program managers to improve national accreditation, namely LAMSAMA, next year. With hopes like the Biology Masters Study Program which has been accredited UNGGUL.

Physics Master Study Program, FMIPA University of Jember Achieves UNGGUL Accreditation Predicate from LAMSAMA

Good news is here again for the FMIPA academic community at Jember University. Physics Master Study Program, FMIPA University of Jember  achieved UNGGUL accreditation. Contained in the decision of the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 022/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/M/IV/2024 dated April 1, 2024. The achievement of this superior accreditation is very encouraging for the Physics Masters Study Program and also for all residents of FMIPA UNEJ. This is because some time ago the Biology Masters Study Program FMIPA also achieved UNGGUL accreditation, so there are already 4 study programs at the FMIPA University of Jember that have successfully achieved accreditation with a UNGGUL rating from LAMSAMA..

The success of the Physics Master’s Study Program is an effort made by all parties. The Physics Master’s Study Program, through its accreditation team, prepares forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni, and other stakeholders working together to achieve the title of UNGGUL accreditation. Jember University leadership also plays a role and supports the LAMSAMA accreditation process, which is carried out by all work units within UNEJ. During the field assessment, Vice Rector I of UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Farewell to the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

Located in the Physics Department Auditorium, the academic community and the FMIPA Dharma Wanita Association attended a farewell event for the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ (28/3). Also present was the Dean of FMIPA from the previous period, Drs. Achmad Sjaifulah, M.Sc., Ph.D., accompanied by Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA for the 2024–2028 period. Pak Sjai, who is known as Mr. Sjai, gave a welcome and thanked the community that had helped during his leadership. “I would like to express my gratitude for all the support and for achieving several programs during our last period of leadership,” he said. Next, Pak. Sjai hopes that Prof. Dafik, FMIPA UNEJ, continues to progress.

On the same occasion, former Vice Dean I FMIPA Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. also expressed his gratitude for the support of colleagues in carrying out their duties assisting the Dean of FMIPA last period. “Similar to Pak. Sjai, I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to my colleagues who always provide support when carrying out their duties to assist the Dean of FMIPA,” he said.
