Department of Mathematics FMIPA held The International Conference on Mathematics, Geometry, Statistics, and Computation (IC-MaGeStiC) 2021

Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember held The International Conference on Mathematics, Geometry, Statistics, and Computation (IC-MaGeStiC) 2021 online (27/11). MaGeStiC is the first international seminar for mathematics department, and is closing of a series of international seminars at FMIPA UNEJ after previously there were three international seminars, IC2MS in Department of Chemistry, ICPIAM in Department of Physics and ICOLIB in Department of Biology. MaGeStiC 2021 has the theme “Building Networks and Collaborative Research on Mathematical Sciences“. Chairman of IC-MaGeStiC 2021, Dr. Kiswara Agung Santoso in plenary session said that MaGeStiC presented 4 Keynote Speakers, Prof. Nobuaki Obata from Ohoku University, Japan, Martianus Frederic Ezerman, Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Fernando Marmolejo-Ramos, Ph.D. from the University of South Australia, Australia, and Prof. Marko Vauhkonen from the University of Eastern Finland, Finland. “IC-MaGeStiC 2021 also presented 6 invited speakers, Natanael Karjanto Ph.D. from Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea, Prof. Indah Emilia Wijayanti from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, Dr. Erry Hidayanto from University of Malang, Indonesia, Prof. I Made Tirta from University of Jember, Indonesia, Moh. Hasan, Ph.D. from University of Jember, Indonesia, and Dr. Kristiana Wijaya from University of Jember Indonesia,” he explained. Kiswara also revealed that IC-MaGeStiC 2021 was attended by 65 presenters and 60 of them had sent full papers to be presented in 6 parallel sessions, Computation, Graph and Algebra I, Graph and Algebra II, Modeling and Analysis, Statistics 1 and Statistics 2 and Education.

IC-MaGeStiC 2021 Department of Mathematics was officially opened by Dean of FMIPA, University of Jember Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. In his remarks, Dean conveyed the IC-MaGeStiC 2021 agenda as closing in a series of international seminars organized by FMIPA UNEJ for the 57th anniversary of University of Jember and the 22nd anniversary of FMIPA UNEJ. “I really appreciate the committee and all The IC-MaGeStiC 2021 presenters, because even during the pandemic, it is still productive to exchange research results” he said, who also hoped that at next event we could meet face to face. IC-MaGeStiC 2021 is fully supported by Indonesian Mathematical Society (IndoMS), Indonesian Combinatorial Society (InaCombS) and Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) as well as Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan Matematika (HIMATIKA) as MC, moderator of parallel sessions and operator of zoom meetings.
