Faishol Amir, S.Si., M.E. Invite FMIPA UNEJ Graduates to Have Confidence in Facing the World of Work

Faishol Amir, S.Si., M.E. alumni of the 2005 FMIPA Mathematics Department, was present to provide motivation to FMIPA UNEJ graduates at the alumni sharing event (5/1). The man, who is a civil servant from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Situbondo, invited participants to develop a confident mindset for competing and succeeding in the world of work. “Instill a mindset of self-confidence to compete with other job seekers; we FMIPA alumni are ready for that,” said the BPS Young Statistician. Faishol also shared his experience when he started his career by competing with alumni of well-known universities.

It was said that FMIPA UNEJ graduates can and are able to win the competition in the world of work with maximum effort and a confident mindset. The alumni of the Brawijaya University Masters in Economics Postgraduate Program also invited alumni sharing participants not to be stingy with job vacancy information. “For me, sharing locker information does not reduce opportunities; it will actually give us lots of prayers for success,” he said. This principle has been successfully implemented, and it is a joy to be able to share it with others.

Faishol provides motivation to never give up fighting, even though he feels it is not his passion, because behind that is a destiny for us. “I used to be lacking in statistics courses; with struggle and destiny, I now work at BPS,” he continued. Jokingly, he said that he didn’t like physics, but his wife was an alumnus of the Physics Department. He delivered the material in direct interaction with alumni sharing participants.

In fact, one of the FMIPA graduates is now an entrepreneur, even though he hasn’t graduated yet. This was revealed when Faishol interacted with the participants. “I have a delivery service business in the Bekasi area; this service provides deliveries between companies,” said the graduate from the Biology Department. This was used as an example for Faishol that FMIPA, regardless of major, can work anywhere and can also be an entrepreneur. “We at FMIPA can do it; graduates from the Biology Department are shipping service entrepreneurs, and I myself became a civil servant with competition from tens of thousands of participants with graduate backgrounds from large universities,” he concluded.

Previously, at the opening of the Deputy Dean III of FMIPA at UNEJ, Dr. Edy Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Sc., representing the Dean of FMIPA, conveyed a message for graduates to equip themselves to be able to challenge and look to the future. “We present alumni who have had successful careers so that you can emulate and take their knowledge to prepare for the future,” he said, accompanied by the Chairman of IKAMIPA, Abduh Riski, S.Si., M.Si. Tomorrow, the alumni sharing participants will take part in the University of Jember graduation process for period VII of the 2023–2024 academic year at the UNEJ Auditorium.
