LAMSAMA Accreditation Field Assessment for Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA UNEJ

The team of Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) conducted a field assessment for the accreditation of the Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA UNEJ. The Chancellor of University of Jember, Iwan Taruna had the opportunity to attend and open the field assessment (14/11). In his remarks, Iwan Taruna said that several study programs at UNEJ were also in the same accreditation process as the Chemistry Pod. “In recent times, several study programs on our campus have also carried out the accreditation process both nationally and internationally,” he said.

Furthermore, Iwan Taruna said that the Chemistry Study Program had prepared such a field assessment in a relatively short time. “According to the Dean, the Chemistry Study Program is ready for assessment and this opening is special. At the opening of the assessment, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor I and Vice Chancellor III attended the opening,” said Iwan Taruna.

Previously, Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Achmad Sjaifullah gave a welcome speech to the assessors, namely Prof. Dr. Dra. Dyah Iswantini Pradono, M.Sc. from Institut Pertanian Bogor and Prof. Dr. Eddy Heraldy, M.Si. from Universitas Sebelas Maret. “This is our campus, hopefully in the next two days the assessors can be comfortable in carrying out the tasks of LAMSAMA,” he hoped.

At the opening, Vice Chancellor I UNEJ Slamin gave a presentation on the Profile of University of Jember. Slamin shared the vision and mission, study programs at UNEJ, teaching and education staff, UNEJ’s achievements to the development direction of UNEJ 2004-2028. “UNEJ programs related to accreditation include improving quality and relevance, improving the quality of education services, strengthening governance and strengthening cooperation,” explained Slamin.

Meanwhile, Dyah Iswantini Pradono, one of the assessors, asked all those involved in the field assessment to use their time. “With the existing schedule, we ask the chemistry study program to be patient as long as possible until the evening during this field assessment process,” she hoped.

After the opening, it was followed by sessions with UPPS leadership, LKPS data confirmation sessions, sessions with internal quality assurance implementers, sessions with study program accreditation teams, sessions with (middle) management at UPPS, sessions with lecturers, students, alumni. Between sessions, the assessor will do independent work to provide results from the field assessment.
