The Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Jember Receives UNGUL ​​Accreditation from LAMSAMA

Early this July, the academic community of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Jember received two pieces of good news. Among them, the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program (PSSM) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UNEJ received UNGUL ​​accreditation. This is stated in the decision of the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Number 201/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/VII/2025, dated July 7, 2025. The accreditation is valid from the date of issuance until July 6, 2030. This UNGUL ​​accreditation is a source of great pride for the PSSM and the entire FMIPA community at UNEJ. “Achieving UNGUL ​​accreditation from LAMSAMA is the result of the hard work of the task force and PSSM management, as well as the collaboration of several parties, including students and alumni of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program,” said the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Contacted separately, Dr. Kiswara Agung Santoso, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program, stated that achieving UNGGUL (Excellent) is the result of hard work by his accreditation team, who prepared the forms, supported by lecturers, students, alumni, and stakeholders. “From the beginning of preparation, we have always coordinated with the task force, the undergraduate mathematics study program community, the leadership of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), and with assistance from LPMPP UNEJ,” said Kiswara. The University of Jember leadership also played a role and supported the LAMSAMA accreditation process. The field assessment was attended by the Rector, Vice Rector I, Head of the ICT Unit, Director of Postgraduate Studies, and representatives from the LPMPP. Guest Lecture on Statistics and Data Science in Business Competition Analysis by KPPU Commissioner Dr. Eugenia Mardanugraha

The importance of implementing a quantitative approach, including statistics and econometrics, in identifying and evaluating the behavior of business actors that have the potential to violate the principles of fair competition. Revealed by Dr. Eugenia Mardanugraha, S.Si., M.E. Commissioner of Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha (KPPU) who is also a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia. In the guest lecture “Statistics and Data Science in Business Competition Analysis” held by the Data Science Research Group and MOCO, Department of Mathematics, FMIPA UNEJ (7/7). Dr. Eugenia also explained that Law No. 5 of 1999 is the basis for KPPU to prevent monopolistic practices, cartels, and unfair market control. The guest lecture was held offline at the UNEJ Entrepreneurship Building and online on the UNEJ FMIPA Youtube channel.

Previously at the opening, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. invited the participants to get to know KPPU and the role of statistics and data science in business competition. “It is an honor for FMIPA, Dr. Eugenia from KPPU is pleased to attend and give a guest lecture for lecturers, students, practitioners in reviewing the role of statistics and data science for business competition analysis,” he said. Gita Swara MIPA participated in the Choir Competition of Pancasila Month of Jember University 2025

The Gita Swara MIPA Choir Team participated in the Inter-Work Unit Choir Competition throughout the University of Jember at the Soejarwo Building, 5th Floor (29/6). Receiving lottery number 11, the FMIPA padsu team went up to the competition stage accompanied by the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. Together with 18 other work units, padsu performed two songs, one compulsory song Tanah Airku by Ibu Sud and the Padang Bulan regional song medley Cublak-cublak Suweng arranged by Barkah WP. Gita Swara MIPA is a choir consisting of FMIPA lecturers and educators. The choir competition is a routine agenda of the University of Jember to commemorate the Birth of Pancasila in 2025 in the series of Pancasila months which began with the flag ceremony on June 1.

Wearing black and white uniforms wrapped in simple and elegant batik cloth, they presented their best performance. Conducted by the Vice Dean II, the Padsu FMIPA Dr. Esti Utarti, S.P., M.Si. sang two songs in unison in front of the Rector, Vice Rectors and all heads of institutions at UNEJ. This performance was achieved after almost a full month of routine practice in between activities at the faculty. Accompanied by the trainer, in the afternoon the Padsu FMIPA team was trained in vocal training according to the score and movement to support the stage appearance. The day before the competition, the Padsu team conducted a stage trial or dress rehearsal to try out the stage and team positions. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember Becomes the Location of the 2025 SEMMABA UTBK Exam

Like several years before, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember is again the location of the Seleksi Mandiri Mahasiswa Baru (SEMMABA) UTBK exam. FMIPA provides two exam rooms, namely Mathematics Laboratory 1 and Mathematics Laboratory 2. “For the SEMMABA UTBK, we have prepared 20 exam computers and 4 backup computers per exam room,” said Dr. Esti Utarti, S.P., M.Si. Vice Dean II of FMIPA UNEJ and also the Penanggung Jawab Lokasi of the FMIPA Location. It was also said that for the transit room for exam participants, an international classroom for the FMIPA Mathematics Department was provided. Supporting facilities for the UTBK have also been prepared such as generators, directions to the location and a rest area for exam participants. According to the schedule, the 2025 SEMMABA UTBK was held on June 17-19, 2025 yesterday.

FMIPA UNEJ is one of the locations along with 16 other exam locations with 25 exam rooms and 855 computer devices spread across the Tegalboto Campus to serve UTBK SEMMABA participants. Before the implementation, the IT Room from the Mathematics Laboratory installed the UTBK application accompanied by a team from UPA TIK. Furthermore, a network connection assessment was carried out guided by the UTBK SEMMABA UNEJ server admin. “After the installation and assessment, our IT Room together with UPA TIK conducted a UTBK trial involving UNEJ students, working on each question and reporting any obstacles before the implementation day,” said Deputy Dean II of FMIPA UNEJ. Field Assessment of LAMSAMA Accreditation of Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

The Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) Team held a field assessment of the accreditation of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember. Rector of University of Jember Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng. and Vice Rector of UNEJ for Academic Affairs Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D. together with the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. accompanied the assessor team in the opening ceremony of the field assessment (16-17/6). The assessor team consisted of Prof. Dr. Sri Wahyuni, S.U. from Gadjah Mada University and Prof. Alhadi Bustamam, M.Kom., Ph.D. from the Universitas Indonesia.

In his opening remarks, Iwan Taruna hoped that the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program would be able to achieve UNGGUL accreditation. “With good cooperation from the taskforce team, I hope that the Mathematics study program will achieve the UNGGUL predicate in order to improve UNEJ’s IKU,” he said. The Chancellor said that the field visitation is a process of verifying the accreditation files that the study program has submitted. “The visitation is a process of verifying accreditation documents, as a place to convince assessors with the accreditation taskforce,” he continued. The Chancellor officially opened the field assessment of the Bachelor of Mathematics Study Program. Present at the opening of the visitation were leaders and representatives from supporting institutions at the University of Jember such as LPMPP, LP2M, UPA UPA TIK, Postgraduate, UPA Library and UPA Language. Slaughter of Sacrificial Animals 1446 H by the Takmir of Baitul Ilmi Mosque, FMIPA UNEJ

The caretaker of Baitul Ilmi Mosque, FMIPA, University of Jember held the slaughtering of sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha 1446 H (8/6). Together with the academic community of FMIPA, this year the caretaker slaughtered one cow and five goats. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. expressed his gratitude because this year they could again carry out the slaughtering of sacrificial animals at FMIPA. “This year, the FMIPA community together with the caretaker of the Baitul Ilmi Mosque will again slaughter sacrificial animals, I express my gratitude for the trust of the sacrifice owners in us and the committee who prepared this event,” he said. The person who slaughtered the sacrificial animals was Prof. Bayu Taruna Widjaja Putra, S.TP., M.Eng., M.Ag., Ph.D. Head of UPA TIK UNEJ who is also JULEHA (Halal Cow Slaughterer).

JULEHA is a Halal Cow Slaughterer who has expertise and dedication in slaughtering animals and ensuring the halalness of meat. With one breath, Prof. Bayu’s thrust successfully slaughtered the sacrificial cow. After the shohibul kurban was read by Dr. Bambang Piluharto as a representative of the Baitul Ilmi mosque committee. Next, the slaughtering of the sacrificial goat was accompanied by Prof. Bayu. It didn’t take long, the process of slaughtering the cow and goat was completed. The sacrificial committee with equipment immediately worked together to sort the sacrificial meat to be distributed.
