Slaughter of Sacrificial Animals 1446 H by the Takmir of Baitul Ilmi Mosque, FMIPA UNEJ

The caretaker of Baitul Ilmi Mosque, FMIPA, University of Jember held the slaughtering of sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha 1446 H (8/6). Together with the academic community of FMIPA, this year the caretaker slaughtered one cow and five goats. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. expressed his gratitude because this year they could again carry out the slaughtering of sacrificial animals at FMIPA. “This year, the FMIPA community together with the caretaker of the Baitul Ilmi Mosque will again slaughter sacrificial animals, I express my gratitude for the trust of the sacrifice owners in us and the committee who prepared this event,” he said. The person who slaughtered the sacrificial animals was Prof. Bayu Taruna Widjaja Putra, S.TP., M.Eng., M.Ag., Ph.D. Head of UPA TIK UNEJ who is also JULEHA (Halal Cow Slaughterer).

JULEHA is a Halal Cow Slaughterer who has expertise and dedication in slaughtering animals and ensuring the halalness of meat. With one breath, Prof. Bayu’s thrust successfully slaughtered the sacrificial cow. After the shohibul kurban was read by Dr. Bambang Piluharto as a representative of the Baitul Ilmi mosque committee. Next, the slaughtering of the sacrificial goat was accompanied by Prof. Bayu. It didn’t take long, the process of slaughtering the cow and goat was completed. The sacrificial committee with equipment immediately worked together to sort the sacrificial meat to be distributed. Journal CERiMRE from Departmen of Physics Increases Ranking, FMIPA UNEJ Has Three SINTA 3 Accredited Journals

“Congratulations and success to the CERiMRE journal of the Physics Department for achieving SINTA 3 accreditation from the Direktur Jenderal Riset dan Pengembangan Kemendiktisaintek which was announced some time ago,” said the Dean of FMIPA Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. Computational and Experimental Research in Materials and Renewable Energy (CERiMRE) is a journal from KeRiS (Research Group) KMTE (Applied Materials and Energy Computation of the Physics Department of FMIPA which was previously accredited SINTA 4 and has also achieved DOAJ international indexation. “The CERiMRE journal will be a reference for three journals in FMIPA that are applying for new accreditation, hopefully the InSTEM Journal, ICL Journal, and LSB Journal can follow CERiMRE in achieving SINTA accreditation,” he continued.

CERiMRE Journal has been publishing its articles since 2018 using English and authors from several countries. Authors from the African continent such as Congo, Nigeria, and Ghana. Countries from Asia also participate such as India, China, Japan, Iran and of course Indonesia. CERiMRE, led by Dr. Dr. Artoto Arkundato, S.Si., M.Si. as Editor-in-chief, has prepared the SINTA re-accreditation process by refining the requirements from ARJUNA. Improving the quality of article substance is the main focus in the improvement. Field Assessment of LAMSAMA Accreditation for Undergraduate Biology Study Program, FMIPA UNEJ

The Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA) team held a field assessment of the accreditation of the Biology Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember. The Rector of the University of Jember Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng. and the Vice Rector of UNEJ for Academic Affairs Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D. with the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. accompanied the assessor team in the opening ceremony of the field assessment (22-23/5). The assessor team consisted of Dr. Sony Heru Sumarsono from Institut Teknologi Bandung and Prof. Dr. Okid Parama Astirin, M.S. from Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta.

Iwan Taruna in his opening remarks hoped that the Biology Undergraduate Study Program would be able to achieve UNGGUL which would improve UNEJ’s IKU. “With good cooperation from the taskforce team, hopefully the biology study program can achieve the UNGGUL predicate to improve UNEJ’s IKU,” he said. The Chancellor said that the field visitation was a process of verifying the accreditation files that the study program had submitted. “The visitation is a process of verifying accreditation documents, as a place to convince the assessors by the taskforce, hopefully it will run smoothly from the beginning until tomorrow,” he continued. The Rector officially opened the field assessment of the Biology Undergraduate Study Program. Present at the opening of the visitation were leaders and representatives from supporting institutions at the University of Jember such as LPMPP, LP2M, UPA TIK, Pascasarjana, UPA Library and UPA Bahasa. Open Talk BPM, Aspiration Towards Action: Realizing Sustainable Synergy of FMIPA

Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. along with the Vice Deans, Head of Department, Head of Laboratory, Head of General Affairs and Deputy Coordinator of Fields in FMIPA attended the Open Talk agenda (16/5). Open Talk is an activity held by the Student Representative Body (BPM) of FMIPA UNEJ with the theme Aspiration Towards Action: Realizing Sustainable Synergy of FMIPA. The Dean gave the aspirations of this agenda as a means of communication between students and the ranks of faculty leaders. “The Faculty of MIPA is not only lecturers or education staff but also students, therefore it is called the academic community, so through this agenda we work together to advance FMIPA,” he said. Prof. Dafik also said that student input to the leadership is a form of care and affection for the leadership in order to work together to maintain and advance FMIPA.

Open Talk raised current issues in the FMIPA environment related to academics, facilities, services, and student activities in general. Student representatives through student organizations provided input and questions to be responded to by the FMIPA leadership. Academic issues about changing schedules became a topic of discussion. Students often face schedule changes, there are several reasons and the solution given is communication with the lecturer. “Communicate with the lecturer, convey the reasons, objections to reach an agreed meeting point so that no one is harmed,” said the Dean of FMIPA. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period IX, Academic Year 2024/2025

FMIPA UNEJ held the 77th Postgraduate (S2) and 109th Undergraduate Graduation of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period IX, Academic Year 2024/2025 (16/5). Held in the Auditorium of the Entrepreneurship Building, University of Jember. In the graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. conveyed a message to foster creativity independently. “After graduating tomorrow, you will be faced with the challenge of working, apart from working in government or the private sector, currently remote workers are in demand, of course with high creativity,” he said. It was also said that undergraduate graduates enter level 6 according to KKNI and to move up a level, additional education is needed.

To level 7 requires certification and to go higher requires further study, FMIPA has four master’s study programs available. Prof. Dafik said that becoming a bachelor is not the end, to be successful requires knowledge and meeting good colleagues. “When trying to work independently, knowledge and a good network of colleagues are needed so that you can achieve fortune and success in the future,” he said. With the provisions above, the judiciary is no longer dependent on employment from the government or private sector, but can be independent. “The era of Decentralized finance with its blockchain technology, I hope you can participate with the provision of knowledge from FMIPA UNEJ,” he concluded. Prof. Marko Vauhkonen from University of Finland Visits Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember

Prof. Marko Vauhkonen from University of Finland visited FMIPA UNEJ as part of the Visiting Professor agenda. The Dean and heads of study programs in FMIPA as well as Mathematics lecturers attended the welcoming and introduction event for Prof. Marko at the FMIPA Dean’s Office building (25/4). “Welcome Prof. Marko, hopefully you can be comfortable attending FMIPA UNEJ because in the next few days there will be activities ranging from guest lectures to webinars,” he said. The Dean also hopes that there will be many collaborations with the presence of Prof. Marko at FMIPA. It is also said that the University of Finland is one of the best universities in Europe and we need to learn a lot from him.

Prof. Marko Vauhkonen is a professor in Industrial Physics and Applied Mathematics from the Department of Technical Physics, Faculty of Science, Forestry, and Technology, University of Finland. “Prof. Marko will stay at FMIPA starting today until May 2, so please share your knowledge, both teaching and research,” he hoped. The mentor from M. Ziaul Arif, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., the mathematics lecturer will carry out several academic activities. Guest Lecture in the mathematics study program and physics study program. Practitioners teach in the PDP course in the mathematics study program. Seminar with IndoMS, Team Finland Knowledge (TFK) in the form of Grant Proposal Discussion and discussion about the curriculum.
