DWP FMIPA UNEJ Regular Meeting: Making Woven Bags with the Creative Industry Pak Tara Craft

Dharma Wanita Association FMIPA Jember University held a regular meeting (6/9). “Thank God this regular meeting can be attended by more participants; hopefully we will always be given good health so that the friendship continues,” said Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, who is also the Supervisor of DWP FMIPA. The Dean’s Meeting Room looked full, and apart from the gathering agenda, the FMIPA DWP members were also enthusiastic about immediately following the practice of making woven bags.

“Today we will be accompanied by Mrs. Lidya Ningrum from Pak Tara Craft to make woven bags,” said Nur Sa’dijah Achmad Saifullah, Chair of DWP FMIPA at the start of the event. Mr. Tara Craft has made many woven bags and has also provided assistance in making woven bags. “We hope that these skills can be useful for all DWP members while filling their free time by continuing to be creative,” he concluded. Improve Practicum Services, Mathematics Laboratory, and Biology Laboratory FMIPA Holds Short Training

To improve services to students, especially practicums, Mathematics Laboratory and Biology Laboratory of FMIPA UNEJ held short training. The Mathematics Laboratory has theme Peningkatan Kompetensi Asisten Praktikum Kalkulus (25/8). “We equate the perception of delivering practicum material because we serve students in all majors, from introductions, preparation to output from practicum,” said Dr. Agustina Pradjaningsih, S.Si., M.Si. Head of the Mathematics Laboratory. Followed by 23 calculus practicum assistants, the material was delivered by Abduh Riski, S.Si., M.Si. discuss the achievements of each meeting during the practicum implementation.

Separately, the Biology Laboratory plans to develop staff for educational laboratory institutions with the aim of improving practicum services for compulsory subjects in supporting the learning outcomes of graduate students. “The training was held in the sub lab, all PLP are expected to be able to transfer knowledge and expertise so they are able to provide a variety of laboratory services,” said Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D. Head of the Biology Laboratory. The event took place August 7-11 in the microbiology sub-lab, followed by August 14 in the botany sub-lab and August 21-22 in the zoology sub-lab. Continue reading

Develop Ecotourism, FMIPA UNEJ and Indonesia Ecotourism Network (INDECON) Collaborate

Dean of FMIPA UNEJ Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D., signed a collaboration with the Indonesia Ecotourism Network (INDECON), which was personally attended by Indriani Setiawati, S.Si., as Chairman of the Foundation (16/8). “This relationship is increasingly expanding the scope of collaboration that FMIPA is doing; together with INDECON, we will share a lot of knowledge about ecotourism as well as community-based tourism,” said the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ. It was also conveyed that INDECON, which has 25 years of experience, can become a partner in Tridharma Higher Education activities, especially nature conservation through ecotourism.

During the meeting, two faculties at UNEJ also signed a collaboration agreement with INDECON. Prof. Drs. Antonius Cahya Prihandoko, M.App.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FASILKOM UNEJ, and Dr. Djoko Poernomo, M.Si. The Dean of FISIP UNEJ also agreed to collaborate with INDECON. “It is possible for other faculties to join hands with us with INDECON because they have similarities in realizing higher education’s Tridharma activities,” continued the Dean, who was accompanied by Deputy Deans who are also FMIPA Biology lecturers. PKKMB Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember 2023: “Scientist Muda Berani Berkarya”

New Students of the University of Jember FMIPA entered the parking lot while shouting “Scientist Muda Berani Berkarya” after participating in the student inauguration ceremony and the opening of the PKKMB by Rektor of the University of Jember (14/8). “Welcome to FMIPA UNEJ, a faculty that will turn all of you into young scientists, who will have the courage to produce works,” said Drs. Achmad Sjaifullah, M.Sc., Ph.D. Dean of FMIPA UNEJ. It was also conveyed that FMIPA has the facilities and professional staff who will assist in realizing these ideals.

New FMIPA students will receive PKKMB material in a class or group determined by the committee. Together with BEMF MIPA, the committee has prepared PKKMB as comfortable as possible, starting from delivering materials to MABA health services. The Dean of FMIPA also hopes that students will actively participate in lectures and follow information, especially scholarships. “The student is very lucky, because there are many scholarship opportunities, not only KIP, but there are many more and you should know that from the start,” he said. Sad News Dian Anggraeni, S.Si., M.Si., Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, FMIPA UNEJ

Has passed away to Rahmatullah Dian Anggraeni, S.Si., M.Si. Lecturer in the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember on Saturday, August 12 2023. The deceased joined Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences since 2006. An alumnus of the University of Brawijaya (S1) and the Ten November Institute of Technology (S2) taught statistics while serving as a lecturer. The deceased left a husband and two sons.

“On behalf of the FMIPA University of Jember, we express our deepest condolences for passed away of our colleague Ms. Dian Anggraeni. We hope that the deceased will receive the best blessings from Allah and the family will be given fortitude,” said Drs. Siswoyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. Deputy Dean I FMIPA at the release of the body. 20 Biology Students from FMIPA Participated in Student Exchange, Study Visit and Community Service in Germany

The Head of the Biology Department, FMIPA UNEJ, together with the Academic Advisor Lecturer, released 20 Biology Undergraduate Study Program students who would take part in the Student Exchange in Germany. 5 7th semester students will take part in the 2023 Summer School program and 15 students consisting of 5th and 7th semester students will take part in the 2023 Study Visit program in Germany. ” Summer School activities will be carried out by students for 1 full month, from 1 to 31 August 2023,” said Dr. Retno Wimbaningrum, Head of the Biology Department, FMIPA..

While the Study Visit activities will last for more than two weeks, from 11 to 27 August 2023. These two activities are supported by two different funding sources, the Summer School is funded by the KA171 Erasmus+ Program Project while the Study Visit is funded by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) Project through project IDE: 37686067. “This Summer School and Study Visit activity will later be integrated with MBKM activities abroad with a credit transfer scheme ,” he continued.
