The Senate of FMIPA UNEJ held the yudisium for the 87th Postgraduate and 123rd Undergraduate cohorts Period IV, Academic Year 2026/2027 on September 23. The event took place at the Physics Department Auditorium. In his address, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their studies. “Congratulations to the graduates on overcoming the challenges faced during your years of study; beyond that, FMIPA alumni possess the flexibility to seek employment or even create their own job opportunities,” he stated. Artificial intelligence is now available to support these endeavors in the current era.

Prof. Dafik stated that becoming a job creator is a viable option while waiting to secure employment, as it enhances the skills of graduating students. “Given the versatility of FMIPA alumni who can enter any field combined with AI capabilities, graduates can create jobs rather than merely seeking vacancies, in addition to the option of pursuing further studies,” he added. Advanced study programs are available across all FMIPA disciplines, and graduates can pursue these not only within FMIPA but also at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). The Dean of FMIPA presided over the open meeting of the FMIPA Faculty Senate, accompanied by Vice Deans I, II, and III. The Senate of the FMIPA UNEJ held the yudisium for the 86th Postgraduate and 122nd Undergraduate cohorts of the 2026/2027 Academic Year (Period III) on September 17. The event took place at the Physics Department Auditorium. This particular ceremony was distinguished by the presence of Prof. Dr. Sunder Ramasamy and Dr. Himani Binjola from India. The Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., delivered his address in English. He emphasized the importance of lifelong learning to the graduates, stating, “Congratulations to the graduates; I urge you to always embrace lifelong learning after completing your studies at FMIPA, as it will serve you well whether you enter the workforce or pursue further studies.”.

Prof. Dafik highlighted the role of technology specifically artificial intelligence (AI) in assisting students as they seek employment or pursue further studies. “Given that FMIPA alumni possess the versatility to enter diverse fields, the integration of AI means they can not only look for jobs but also create employment opportunities, in addition to the option of continuing their education,” he added. The importance of English as a global language for those wishing to study abroad was also emphasized. FMIPA UNEJ held its 121st graduation ceremony (Period II, Academic Year 2026/2027) on August 21. The event took place in the Physics Department Auditorium at the faculty. In his address, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their studies. He noted that this particular ceremony was special as it coincided with the atmosphere of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations. “During this moment of independence, I urge the graduates to contribute meaningfully by preparing themselves to strive in the economic sector,” he began. He encouraged them to hone their skills to complement the cognitive abilities they had acquired during their studies at FMIPA.

Prof. Dafik stated that FMIPA UNEJ alumni must be able to combine their cognitive knowledge with practical skills to prepare for their entry into society. “By combining cognitive abilities integrated with modern advancements like AI and honed skills, graduates can not only find employment but also create jobs themselves,” he continued. Citing the FMIPA “3.5 to the power of 4” tagline, Prof. Dafik urged graduates that it is time to stop being a financial burden on their parents. Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period I, Academic Year 2026/2027

FMIPA UNEJ held the 120th Undergraduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Jember, Period I, Academic Year 2026/2027 (17/7). Held at the Auditorium of the Physics Department, FMIPA, University of Jember. In the graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., conveyed congratulations and success for passing and graduating to the FMIPA judiciary. The Dean invited the judiciary to prepare themselves to face challenges after graduation by learning to convert lecture results into skills. “Become problem solvers in the form of skills, especially transferable skills, so you can enter all lines of work,” he began. After graduation, alumni are also expected to no longer depend on their parents.

Prof. Dafik said that FMIPA UNEJ alumni have the advantage of being able to enter all lines of work. “The broad scope of MIPA science is an asset for alumni, such as in the current era, they can enter programs launched by the Indonesian government,” he continued. Prof. Dafik advised the judiciary to continue upgrading their skills to seize golden opportunities in today’s digital era which requires more skills and always follow technological advances. The Dean of FMIPA led an open meeting of the Faculty of MIPA senate accompanied by the Vice Deans I and II of FMIPA. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Jember University held its 116th Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Jember University, Period 7, Academic Year 2025/2026 (January 21). The ceremony took place in the Physics Department Auditorium, FMIPA, Jember University. In his graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of their studies at FMIPA. He encouraged the graduates to prepare themselves to be competitive when entering society. “Today’s workforce requires workers with KKNI (National Qualifications Framework) level 6, so I hope that with the knowledge gained from studying at FMIPA, I can remain competitive,” he began. At this level, individuals must master various more complex competencies. They must possess strong managerial skills, be able to make strategic decisions, and be capable of development and innovation.

Prof. Dafik stated that the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, with its motto of “creativity,” will continue to produce energetic, multi-tasking, and multi-talented graduates. This motto, supported by creativity, enables graduates to be independent. “Don’t rely solely on a science degree, but develop your creativity so you can work in various fields, which are currently rapidly evolving,” he continued. Prof. Dafik advised the graduates to balance prayer and effort to achieve success. FThe Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Jember University held the 114th Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony for the 5th Period of the 2025/2026 Academic Year (11/18). The ceremony took place in the Physics Department Auditorium of the Faculty. In his graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of their studies at FMIPA. He also informed that in the next few months, UNEJ’s status will change from a BLU to a PTNBH. “If PTNBH becomes a legal entity (PTNBH), there will be greater opportunities for FMIPA to open new study programs, and this has been appreciated by the Rector, the closest being the data science study program,” he began. The opening of study programs will result in an increased number of students who will be mentored to participate in society, like the graduates at this morning’s graduation ceremony.

Prof. Dafik stated that strong alumni data is needed to track the progress of FMIPA graduates in society. “With this data, we are preparing an OBE curriculum that will broaden the reach of alumni and enable them to choose their desired career fields,” he continued. Prof. Dafik also expressed his hope that a bachelor’s degree is not the end, but rather a foundation for lifelong learning. “Continue learning, be consistent in your efforts, and ultimately you will achieve victory and success,” he concluded.
