FMIPA of Jember University held its 85th Postgraduate (S2) and 119th Undergraduate (B2) Graduation Ceremony for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Jember University for Term X, Academic Year 2025/2026 (June 4). The ceremony took place in the Physics Department Auditorium, FMIPA, Jember University. In his graduation speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNEJ, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of their studies at FMIPA. He encouraged the graduates to prepare themselves to become independent graduates. “FMIPA is dedicated to providing useful knowledge so that alumni can be independent in facing the future,” he began. After graduation, alumni are expected to no longer be dependent on their parents.
Prof. Dafik stated that FMIPA alumni have the advantage of being able to enter all fields of work. “The broad scope of the science and technology field is a valuable asset for alumni, such as now, when they can enter public schools to teach and become nutritionists in national government programs,” he continued. Prof. Dafik advised the graduates to embrace lifelong learning, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning, learning through anything, anywhere, and any medium. The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences led an open meeting of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences senate, accompanied by the Vice Deans II and III of the Faculty. All members of the FMIPA senate, as well as invited guests representing the teaching and administrative staff of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University, were also present.
Following this, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Jember University, read the decree concerning the 85th Postgraduate (S2) and 119th Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) graduation ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Year by Vice Dean I of the Faculty, Prof. Dra. Hari Sulistiyowati, M.Sc., Ph.D. The Deans, Vice Deans, and Heads of Departments then congratulated all graduates. At this graduation ceremony, the highest GPA for the Master’s Program was achieved by Waki’atil Rosida, S.Si., from the Master’s Program in Biology, with a GPA of 3.97 after a study period of 1 year, 5 months, and 1 day. Meanwhile, the highest GPA for the Bachelor’s Program was achieved by Oktavia Putri Wibowo from the Bachelor’s Program in Biology with a GPA of 3.83 after a study period of 3 years, 5 months, and 6 days. The fastest graduate was Sefy Ika Winiyamasyah from the Bachelor’s Program in Mathematics with a GPA of 3.68 after a study period of 3 years, 5 months, and 1 day.
The motivational speech at the graduation ceremony was delivered by Fedora Adi Brata, S.Si., a 2018 alumnus of the Bachelor’s Program in Mathematics. Fedora stated that being a FMIPA UNEJ alumni with a punctual status is a very good starting point. “This is concrete proof of self-responsibility in completing college and serves as initial capital for entering the workforce,” he said. The Head of the Administration Sub-Division at the Kasubbag Administrasi di Bawaslu Kabupaten Jember encouraged the FMIPA UNEJ alumni to pursue whatever they choose after graduation, and to do so with discipline, as great opportunities will emerge along the way.
Fedora emphasized that pursuing a career requires a process that must be undertaken and carefully considered. “I have personally experienced every stage of the process of any job; do it responsibly, and most importantly, never stop learning to achieve your dreams, whether it’s a job or those who want to continue their studies,” he concluded. The graduation ceremony concluded with a prayer, wishing all graduates success in the future. Following the graduation ceremony, a group photo was taken for the study programs within the FMIPA UNEJ. The graduates will attend the graduation ceremony this weekend at the Jember University Auditorium.
